Maybe!But here is the thing.This CPU does not have the extra cache that the X3D models have, but is it much more affordable with low single digit performance penalties.I upgraded my PC from the 7900X to the 9950X. and yes, this is a sort of apples and oranges comparrison (12/24 vs 16/32 core counts) it still mattersThe 9950X is phenomenal.Whether you run LM-Studio, or Game, or do coding and code compilation, or whether you do 3d rendering, or video editing This CPU chews through the tasks with ease.It runs cool too. I dohave it hooked up to a 420mm AiO water cooler so that does help but it runs cooler than the 7900X did in the same setup.It is also more power efficient than anything the Blue team currently has, and better performance per watt than the older 7900XThe nicest thing is it drops straight into the existing X670 E mtherboard I used for my 7900X so the upgrade cost me exactly 1 BIOS update, which sped up my RAM as well.Furthermore, Stability wise, this CPU has NEVER caused a crash, even when I ran it with an overclock to see what it could do.I was not that adventurous as I really do not need any more performance for day to day and the gains would be marginal at best.The only downside is, I underutilize it a lot. but when I do need it, I have the horsepower and on the Price vs Performance. Don't bother getting an X3D over this. If I could give 4.5/5 I would cause one chiplet is slighly slower than the other. I feel if you get 2 chiplets (8 cores on each) they should be identical. Since X3D version has the same problem I don't drop to 4 stars and this boosts quite a bit higher than that.
