Volume Boost + Bamboo Fibers & Aloe Vera Shampoo, with Castor & Neem Oils, for Hair That Needs a Lift, Strengthens & Revitalizes, Sulfate & Silicone Free, Vegan, 385ml

My hair type: Scandinavian. Thin, dry, brittle, easily greasy and with natural waves. Hair washing cycle: Every other day. I purchased this shampoo after a favourite of mine dropped off the face of the earth (Happy Naturals, thickening shampoo with ginger and sugar cane). I have washed my hair with this twice now, and I think the results for my hair are pretty good. It has elevated my roots slightly, which is great because I sweat a lot through my scalp which results in overall greasiness. It hasn't helped so much that I could go more than a full day without washing my hair, though. I would like to note that this shampoo makes your hair really dry. As you rinse the product from your hair it feels like your hair is left in a big lumpy knot, and for this reason you should strongly consider using a conditioner after each wash. Personally, as dry as my hair is, I have to condition three times; A conditioner in the shower to be washed off, a leave-in conditioner for the brushing after, air dry and use leave-in conditioner again to tame frizzle and crunch my natural waves into order. The scent of this shampoo is quite extraordinary. The name Maui brings in mind Hawaii, things like bamboo and aloe vera seem quite exotic, but the scent reminds me of a pine forest in the morning just after rain. Pretty specific, I know, but I can clearly imagine it in the shower if I close my eyes. The scent lingers around you for a long time after the shower too, especially if you use the thickening conditioner as well, and I like it. The only negative thing I can find is that I do need to use quite a lot of the product. When you start massaging it in it gets harder to reach your roots because your hair starts to "clump up" and I have to reach for an other dollop or two to finish up, but bringing your head briefly under the shower and bringing some water into the hair helps with distributing the shampoo a little. This shampoo is quite a lot pricier than what I'd usually pay for a shampoo, but it really does seem worth it. The bottle is big and even though I wash my hair every other day, and use quite a bit of the product, I don't think I need to buy more than a bottle a month.

I absolutely love the formula and scent of this shampoo. It lathers really well and you don't need loads to wash your entire head (I have thick hair almost to my elbows) and I feel like it really leaves your scalp feeling nice. I've had a few compliments on how nice it smells, too. I'm just not sure how effective the 'thickening' was. I already have quite thick hair, but have recently lost a lot so was looking to help boost it with this. I haven't noticed anything significant, so I'm not sure if it actually works or if it's just not suited to my hair type. Either way, I do really like the shampoo!

This shampoo smells amazing, doesn’t have any nasty ingredients that I can see and it does give hair a bit of volume which is rare for a natural shampoo :)

I’m so disappointed. Firstly it does what it says your hair definitely feels thicker which is good. I bought the shampoo, conditioner and styling spray. The shampoo smells lovely and lathers well but made my hair feel squeaky and dry, I don’t know how else to describe it. I used the conditioner after as recommended. My problem came when I tried to brush my hair afterwards it was so tangled it was a struggle to get the brush through. Going by the other reviews I think I’m just unlucky and obviously the condition of my hair is just not suitable for this product which is unfortunate because it does make your hair feel thicker. I’ve tried a few times with the same result so sorry to say it just not for me. 😞

Always my go to shampoo and conditioner for a man of my age and thinning years. It is a superbe combination. Arrived quickly and in good delivery, well package.

Les cheveux sont plus soyeux et ont davantage de volume. Je le conseille vivement !

Assèche les cheveux donc on perd le bénéfice du petit volume généré si on applique un après shampooing.

Habe das Mauishampoo jetzt bis zur leeren Flasche genutzt, jetzt kann ich es bewerten: Das Shampoo schäumt gut auf, säubert das Haar gründlich und hat einen sehr angenehmen Duft. Ich benutze ein Föhnspray ins handtuchtrockene Haar, dann läßt sich das Haar sehr schön mit einer Rundbürste in Form bringen. Meine Haare fühlen sich kräftig und gut strukturiert an. Werde noch eine weitere Flasche bestellen, um zu testen, ob meine Haare weiter so kräftig und griffig bleiben. Für mich bis jetzt ein wirklich gutes Shampoo!
