It's worked for the summer season on our above ground. It is very stiff, it's hard to manage due to the lack of flexibility. I does seem to heat the pool a degree or two, and more importantly, prevent heat loss overnight. Plus it reduces chlorine loss - the sun burns off chlorine quickly so covering the pool helps.

This is the third cover we've bought and it is the sturdiest and least expensive one we've ever had. I've only had it for a few months, but I think it will last for 2 winters. The Florida sun does a number on then so they don't last longer than that
