Excellent product. Very apt for small/medium rooms
Excellent product. Very apt for small/medium rooms. What I love most about this product is the bass. This one have excellent bass and sound quality is amazing. Speakers are not too loud, but have very good clarity. FM works fine and clarity is good, but mostly it depends on the signal strength. The build quality of this speaker is also very good and also very good looking. One of the two things that I don't like is the short length of satellite speakers. I was glad that it was enough for my table setup. And second thing is that the volume starts at 20, which is high, whenever you turn on the speaker. It's a bit high, but since I use it with my PC, it's ok. Or you can try putting it on Aux mode when you turn off the speakers. It's a good way to avoid a booming high pitch sound when you power on the speaker. PROS: *Excellent Bass *Speaker Sound Clarity *Build Quality *Different options of source available like USB/FM/SD Card CONS: *Satellite speaker cable length is short. You cannot keep it very far or if you have a long table it won't be enough. *Whenever you power on speaker the volume starts at 20, which is very high. But if you are using it with a PC, then it's ok (Like I do). Else it's gonna be a headache. Overall, I love the product and it's worth every penny. Excellent bass coupled with great sound quality and it's Philips, what else you need.

Great Product, wonderful sound...awful courier by India Post and helpless Amazon customer service.
Great Product. It not only looks great, it has awesome sound. Tested it with USB and AUX. Both sounded great. In my apartment a sound level of less than 10 is sufficient to wake up the neighbors. The remote, though small in size, but does the job well. You can change tracks, skip to next song, play, pause etc. The FM reception was very good and it sounded excellent. Like already pointed, once you scan the FM channels gets stored. It has got inbuilt equalizer with 4 options(when played in USB mode only). It has nice bass too, but it cannot be controlled through your remote. Have to use the knob behind the woofer. The only con, as pointed out by many is that, when you switch on the speakers the default sound is at level 20 which by the way is too high. Note: If you are planning to purchase this speaker through amazon fullfilled sellers then use the COD option only. Else they will ship it through India Post which not only takes longer but also will not be delivered at your doorstep. (From now on Amazon will use India Post predominantly as confirmed by Amazon customer service). They will ask you to come and pick it up from the post office. They will not deliver even if you do not collect. I waited for 3 days after it reached the post office hoping for the postman to deliver, but at last had to go to the post office and collect it. They even reply arrogantly that we cannot deliver big objects. In fact I have collected my speakers on 25th Nov, but they haven't updated the tracking info yet. It still(1st Dec) shows that it is yet to be delivered. The amazon customer service was also helpless on this. All they can do was write email to them, as if they are going to reply to that. I contacted twice but did not yield any result.

"The irony in this world is that we judge every single penny we spend and not the one we earn"
Like every other mediocre customer, I also go through the recent reviews of any product everytime I wish to buy something. But what I have found little disturbing while reading the reviews is how insanely people judges the countless number of items they are buying in today's online era.Yes of course, there are pros and cons for every product. But sometimes our hopes make us wish for endless pros and zero cons which however, if you see practically is plain stupdd. The reason for all these arguments might seem little melancholy to you, but most of us follow the same path because it is our hard earned money. Some might argue that so what? It is our right to get the best out of our money. Which is correct from this angle of perception but that doesn't give you any right to defame a superb product by highlighting the negative points only.Having said that, if I must analyse this product, these are the best set of speakers I have ever had. I won't go with same technical specifications like other people did because that can be verified at the product description anytime but rather I will try to cover up the experience one music lover had after using it for more than a month. 1.)Looks are amazing. Every visitor notices these magic wands and ask for price. Sometimes, I make fool of them by stating big price(around 5-6k) just to see if they believe it for this sound piece. And most of them do believe it. 2.) Being an avid music lover who is addicted to almost all the music genres, I can proudly say that this beauty is all you need. Be it base or pitch or beats, this really shows who the King of Jungle is.(I have used IBall and Creative speakers before for around 3 Years. So Count it.) 3.) We Indians are crazy over two things : Free Things and Extra Benefits/Profits/Advantages!!. Features like FM, Remote Control, USB Ports, and excellent sound feels luxury to me with such price. 4.)Now, Bickering is something which comes naturally to us. We human beings might not work over solution but we will continue lamenting about problem till we get tired of it.I am giving you few points to choose if you really want to bicker: =>Short Data Cable =>Base Control located in the Back Panel of Woofer =>Lack of Display Strip =>When the system starts, the volume level gets defaulted to Level 20.(Max is 30) If you choose to make petty issue out of these things, then trust me you won't ever feel contented with anything .Remember, You are spending some 3k(more or less if I suppose) and not more.Be less greedy and more grateful instead. Final Say: Go buy it if if for 2.1 Speakers. Well suited for Medium/small size Rooms. King Lucifer

Superbbbb.. .Rocking product !!!
Philips MMS4040F 2.1 Multimedia Speaker First of all, fast delivery by Amazon + nice packing... Amazon rocks !! The speakers have a very nice finish and build quality. The Woofer as well as the satellites are made up of wooden enclosure which is good for offering a nice sound. Operation is very easy - Just single clicks on remote and it is ready to do the job. Play pen drive music flawlessnessly - supports mp3, m4a as well. FM reception is good if kept near the window (which is in my case). Aux is very easy to connect and play. I played AUX with my iPad and it worked and played very well. Aux cable is supplied in the box. Now coming to sound quality - Bass is very good and so is the treble. However there isn't a control for Treble. Volume is very good and the sound produced are very crisp. Remote works very well even at a range of 10 feet. Remote needs two AA battries, but they were not supplied in the box. Overall a very nice product by Phillips - a masterpiece i would say... I got it for Rs. 2750, so a decent cost too. Go for it...

Appearance and Features is good. Sound quality 'OK'.
Appearance is good. But don't assume the size of the woofer and speakers is big. See the spec. for the actual dimensions. FM tuner is good. Music from FM is OK. Playing USB and SD card is great and simple. Have some trouble with playing music from Xiaomi Redmi Note. Does not play consistently. Some times, the speaker is recognized and the music plays in the new speaker. Other times the music is heard only from the mobile's speakers. Does not look like an earphone socket issue. Reason not clear as the behaviour is inconsistent. Does not play from Sony Xperia U at all. The default volume of 20 points is very cumbersome. Every time you turn on the speaker, you have to reduce the volume before playing music, otherwise it will disturb the neighbours. The volume is quite high for the size of the speakers. But I expected more clarity than volume from Philips speakers. I connected my Creative speakers (which are cheaper) to the woofer and checked. The sound clarity is a LOT better with Creative speakers though the volume is not so high as with Philips speakers. But that much volume is more than enough. We can increase a few points like 23 or 24 and listen to good quality music. I could not find a Creative speaker with USB, SD, FM & Remote. If I found one, I would prefer to go for Creative.

2 months old review, they certainly explode!
I was confused between F&D a110d and these. Went for these because they looked better and I trust Philips better. The speakers aren't the most mobile ones as they're bulky. I won't mind them moving once a week, but not everyday. Design is clean and even classy, just the plastic material on front is a dust magnate and not easiest to clean. The sound is loud and clear. As the name suggests, they do explode. The top volume is 30, but i personally have never went ahead of 20-22. I use them in a 3bhk house. So theyre that loud. The bass has more of booming effect, so in a closed small room you'll hear the windows shake. Those who don't like this kind of bass, you do get a bass control knob at the rear. Though bass in general is booming and not soft. The buttons on woofer set feel sturdy but make a loud plastic noise too. Thank god for the remote! You get support for AUX, USB, SD card. If you buy a Bluetooth audio receiver like I did (I bought the Logitech one), you can stream using Bluetooth from your laptop, mobile or tablet as well. I think it's pretty worth it. You get cheaper non branded bluetooth receivers too. FM reception is good too and all channels in my area play well. One problem is that the default volume is 20, which is quite loud. Only get away around this is to switch to aux before switching off your speakers. And trust me you wanna do that, because the FM or usb songs starting at 20 volume can be scary. Conclusion: Great speakers with incredibly loud noise, and good clarity as well. Best for people who like loud booming bass. In my opinion, they're the most feature rich and best in the price category (from known companies). Go for them!

it is branded budget 2.1 system!!
I am highly satisfied with this Philips 2.1 Speakers, brilliant sound with good bass effect,it creates a DUM DUM sound which I loved about it. The seller behaviour is very bad, they send me a product box with address label just pasted on above, and no bill, there is a chance for damage, without outer layer extra box.(Reliance Digital express). For product package(actually they didn't packed the product)0/5. I was decided to buy portable 2.0 laptop speakers, started with this, but finally landed on this 2.1 Philips speakers, after reading many positive reviews, thankyou friends!!. The outlook is very good, stylish, curved corner design, look wise it gives premium feel. For design-5/5 The build quality is decent, sturdy build, but the wires aren't good quality, but OK For build quality -4/5. First of all,i started with mobile and laptop to test the sound,it sounds nice. I tried the sound quality with connected through SONY DVD player, the sound is amazing, good clarity,i understand what is brand, why we give more importance to brand, learned from this two.it delivers 1*10 when connected to mobile. But,when I connect usb through this sound system, the sound not satisfied me,a little buzzz sound Was continuously coming, but it not affect the song,it Hears when close to the system,at long distance acceptable above volume 5 there is no problem, tis is only reason I minimized 1 star. At high volume, above 20,it done a good job, oveall it is a very good choice. For performance4/5. It gives a feel of durable one, after viewing it's performance. Buy confidently,it definitely satisfy you!!!!
