You would have to make sure the current through the diode does not pass around 110ma if you wanted to use it as a voltage regulator, since 1W/9.1V=.11A approximately, going over which would and likely did damage to it. **Q: I’m seeing major voltage drop across the zener diodes. for my application i’m trying to put 12v through a 9.1v zener and i only get 3.45 volts out?** A: 12 volts - 9 volts equals somewhere around 3 volts.
