The Republic
Plato is one of the forefathers of Western Philosophy and Student of Socrates, laid foundation with his most famous work "The Republic". This text is a total socratic dialogues, presents Socrates as the narrator but its more of Plato's words. Regarding the Translation by Desmond Lee, its good but there are more modern translations available.

Good book but...
I found the book quality decent for its price. The font is bleeding through the pages a little bit, but as a Penguin classic I like it's binding, cover and font size. Page quality could have been improved as others in the same price range give better quality pages. About the content, I am not qualified to speak but this is definitely a must read for those into philosophy. It's in the form of a dialogue and this translation is quite good, so majority will find this in a quite readable language. I don't why the seller keeps sending me old stock for this book, even the replacement is dirty and damaged as shown in the pictures. Shame.

Decent book, but it’s very easy to get lost & there’s many words that probably you will have to look up to understand.

What you'd expect from a Penguin paperback, in terms of quality. This edition has quite a long introduction, plus analysis and summaries before every section. Overall I found these very welcome, with the density of the material and the vast cultural difference. The text itself is fascinating. Not at all rigorous, but something that covers so much ground in such an interesting way you can't help but respect it.
