First came the award-winning comic book series. Then the record-breaking TV show. This is an adventure set in that same bleak world. It is a dangerous world that Lilly lives in. The walking dead lurk in every corner, massacring anyone they can get their hands on. Nowhere is safe. But when a terrifying ordeal leaves numerous dead, Lilly and her companions are forced out of their tented community and into the open. Safety seems to come in the form of Woodbury, a gated compound with food and protection. Yet it’s not long before the wanton dangers of Woodbury reveal themselves and the Governor’s despotic rule of the compound threatens to undermine everything Lilly believes in. Because sometimes the dead aren't the biggest threat. It’s the living . Review: It's thrilled. - I finish the story in 2 days and I buy next part too. Review: Good read - Not a bad series as a spin off from TWD.

Blown and torn away, no pun intended!
Kirkman's novel of The Walking Dead series was gripping and highly addictive. I finished both novels, The Road to Woodbury and The Rise of the Governor in four to five hours each. Character development was the most important factor to contribute to my 5++++++ star rating. Not only was the plot well thought out and researched. It was highly realistic given the situation that walking zombies were roaming Earth. Characters die, and wouldn't that happen in real life? But, it isn't just that we see ordinary background characters die, just like the TV series, the characters we like WILL die. And, that doesn't discourage me, on the contrary, I was compelled into the story. I really wish Kirkman would write the whole series with Rick Grimes in regular novel form rather than the graphic novel comic form. PLEASE!!

The Walking Dead is Fantastic in Any Media Format
It's hard to believe that The Walking Dead can be fantastic in every format of media its being made into. First the Comic is winning awards for best running comic, then the TV program is winning Emmys and getting the highest watched drama program ever, the video game wins Game of the Year and the novels are no exception. Although, I haven't read all of this yet, I can tell you its fantastic and the novels help you understand the mind of Phillip Blake or a.k.a. The Governor. If you love The Walking Dead in general and read the comic every month, this will not disappoint you and maybe you may change your thoughts on The Governor after!
