It operates unplugged for approximately 2 hours maybe a little more, but I have not really timed it. Adequate time though. Charging also does not take long. Has a 3 touch light setting, so the brightness used also depends on the longevity of it staying charged. Great light. Sands on its own or you can clip it. Easy to manipulate and very light weight. The light is more of a white light, which I enjoy. You can’t go wrong for the price and it also comes with a warranty. Battery life is not quite what they advertise unless you start from a fresh charge on low output. 2. If the clip were to be redesigned to be as wide as the top it would be more stable / less tippy when sitting. 3. Light is _so_ touch sensitive that you cannot pack it for a trip without it turning itself on. This isn't good. 4. Needs to be redesigned with a Master Off Switch by the charging port, so it can stay shut off for travel. 5. Older models of this light are Micro USB, Not USB-C. The Industry needs to convert to USB-C ASAP. It is a better protocol, it's faster, and reduces the number of chargers needed for gear. 6. Overall it gives good light for long enough for many reading sessions. It should be recharged after each session to assure it is good to go for the next session. It can be used while charging, It is fighting above it's weight at its price point for what it is.
