Great alternative to traditional doorbell!
We love it!! The quality is very nice. The hardware is substantial and beautiful. If you want something very custom and interesting, instead of the plain old doorbell, this is the answer. Haven't installed it yet, but feel it will be a great addition to our New England style saltbox house!! P.S. it seems to be the very same butler's bell in Downton Abbey!!

Good quality, needs skilled mounting and a little quiet.
A good quality kit requiring quite skillful assembly and installation. In particular the mounting of the handle guides is critical if excess friction is to be avoided.An adequate number of pulleys was supplied but I could not find out how to get more if they were needed. The limied length of pull available seemed to limit the maximum volume of the bell. It was a little too quiet for a largish house. I will be experimenting with some Dyneema line to see if a less elastic line will improve the sound level. At present I have mounted a wirelss bell push that is triggered by the bell arm and which sets off two battery operated electonic bells in different parts of the house.

Pretty bad customer
Considering this is an "outdoor product" it does not last outdoors. I have contacted the relevant company to comment on the pealing of the handle, but to no success. I am being ignored. Save your money. Pretty bad customer service

Low tech wins for us!
Sick of replacing batteries in doorbells, horrible noise they produce, tried wireless, even worse, set off two neighbours' doorbells as well as ours. Butlers bell easily installed and you just pull the handle. Simples!

Do not buy this the item comes with the wrong size pole for the brackets ordered two different. Both same problem

Finally Installed, Great quality. Was a lttle tough to adjust to get the bell to ring, but it is exactly what i was looking for in my Steam punk dacor!!!!!

I bought this for a theater play set. We haven't gotten to use it yet. It would have been nice if it had come with instructions.
