Review: Most Opaque White colored pencil I've found - The Derwent Drawing Chinese White Pencil is the most opaque white pencil I've found. I am a professional artist and very particular about which pencils I use and I highly recommend this pencil when you need an opaque white pencil! Derwent Drawing pencils are thicker than most colored pencils, good quality, and I like the way the pencils look (they are easy to distinguish at a glance when drawing. Review: Brite white smooth excellent colored pencils. - One of my favorite white colored pencils! I got the smallest set and the white lead kept breaking. So I ordered 2 more so far the one I been useing hadn't had broken leads throughout the pencil. Since the set I ordered first wasnt in a tin I think during shipping the leads got broken on the travel. But so far the replacement whites I ordered haven't had any lead breaking. ## Features - From Derwent World Renowned For Quality Pencils And Pencil Supplies - Natural and sepia tone pencils have an extra wide 5mm creamy textured core which produces a beautifully soft velvety finish - Round 8mm barrel - Price is for 1 Pencil ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0027IWGZU | | Additional Features | Refillable | | Age Range (Description) | Adult | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Artistic Charcoal Form | White Charcoal | | Best Sellers Rank | #40,905 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ( See Top 100 in Arts, Crafts & Sewing ) #226 in Drawing Pencils | | Body Shape | Round | | Brand | Derwent | | Brand Name | Derwent | | Closure Type | Twist | | Color | White | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 872 Reviews | | Drill Point | medium, wide | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00636638004099 | | Grip Type | Contoured | | Hand Orientation | Ambidextrous | | Hardness | HB | | Included Components | pencil | | Ink Color | Gold,White | | Item Diameter | 8 millimeters | | Item Dimensions | 7.01 x 0.31 x 0.31 inches | | Item Weight | 9.07 g | | Line Size | 1_0_1_9mm | | Manufacturer | Derwent | | Material | mahogany | | Material Type | mahogany | | Model Name | Derwent | | Model Number | 34392 | | Recommended Uses For Product | Drawing, Sketching | | Style | Chinese | | Theme | Artistic Drawing | | UPC | 636638004099 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | No Warranty | | Writing Instrument Form | Pastel Pencil | | Writing Technique | pencil lead | ## Product Details - **Age Range (Description):** Adult - **Brand:** Derwent - **Color:** White - **Ink Color:** Gold,White - **Writing Instrument Form:** Pastel Pencil ## Images ![Drawing Chinese Pencil, White (34392) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41BmItK8bvL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Will this pencil go over graphite pencil lines and cover it up** A: No. It is a very soft opaque white colored pencil that will show when used over colored pencil. I don’t believe it will cover graphite. I believe the Derwin’s Chinese White drawing pencil is wax based so would probably just smear the graphite. It is, however, the best white to use when needing white highlights on colored pencil paintings (I also have used it for highlights on watercolor paintings). Hope this helps. **Q: Are the Derwent Drawing Chinese pencils lightfast, including this white?** A: I was looking for a bright white in my color pencil drawings. This pencil was actually better than most, but I like the Luminance. As far as lightfastness goes, I just started using these and so far so good! I've had no problems. Hope this helped. **Q: Does this work like the brush and pencil powder blender texture touch up? Does it give the same results? Thx!** A: I find this chinese white Derwent pencil to be the best white I own. There is no need to mix it and no brush needed. It covers my white needs perfectly except for the highlight in the eye, which the brush and pencil texture medium is best. Keep it sharp and use a soft touch with it. **Q: What does it mean "1-pack"?** A: Hello Junko S, there is one pencil in a 1-pack. Hope this helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Most Opaque White colored pencil I've found *by B***C on September 16, 2026* The Derwent Drawing Chinese White Pencil is the most opaque white pencil I've found.
