I have a cheap 1" barbell with threaded ends. It works for my needs but switching weights was becoming a pain with the amount of screwing and unscrewing necessary. These clips solved that problem perfectly. They slip on and off without issue and grip securely with the flip of a lever. I probably wouldn't rely on them to hold the plates vertically but I'm never doing that so it's fine.

Way better than the original metal collars that required tightening a metal screw (that would eventually loosen). These feel much more reliable/safer.

Purchased Mar ‘25 Very nice feature of these clamps are the included inserts. Not all barbells are the same diameter, so being able to swap out the internal collar to accommodate the different side barbells is a nice bonus. The internal collar also has a locking tab that prevents it wiggling loose, which again, is a very thoughtful addition. The only cons I can see, are the handle used to lock down the clamp can rotate 360 degrees, which means you really have to pay attention when lining up the handle to close the latch, otherwise, it won’t seat itself correctly. The other con, and I’ve only just gotten my clamps, but for some bizarre reason, the pin and nut that bear the majority of the stress of the clamp are made from nylon plastic???? Why they wouldn’t just use steel hardware is mind boggling. Time will tell how durable the clamps are, but for now they are working splendidly as designed. I purchased them to use with forearm exercise bars. That basically look like a baton, so a two foot bar with a handle on one end. You load your weight on the opposite end of the bar which necessitates two clamps. One clamp below the weight plate, one on top. The default clamps were not great, they slid around and with the range of motion while exercising, I didn’t trust them. We shall see how these clamps hold up

Perfectly fit standard size weight bar. Even come with extra rubber grips. I feel confident in the strength of the lock that it won’t come off

Cheap plastic parts. The plastic screw making up the clamp snapped on first use. Wear a helmet if you're doing any lifting over your head. Update: Vendor issued a refund, so credit to them for that. The threads per inch on the screw are too low, so to get the handle where you need it to stay in place has a good chance to either put not enough force on the clamp and it doesn't work, or too much and the parts snap. Item would be better if made with better design and parts.

Easy to put on but fiddle to get tightened properly. I tried the smallest gasket first and that worked perfectly as that clamp easily tightened on to my 1 inch barbell. On the other side I had trouble getting the clamp to tighten properly. Using the next size of gasket was even worse. I went back to the smallest gasket and I got the clamp tightened but the clamp is at a slight angle is not parallel to the weight plate. If I try to make it parallel like the other one I can't get the clamp hand tightened or else it's too loose. Others have reported that the clamp my break and I did not want to force it. It holds the plate to the bar even if it is not properly parallel to the clamp when tightened.

All parts are plastic save the spring. Works reasonably well. The screw is coarse thread so is hard to get just the right tightness. It was tight enough and will probably work ok. But if the handle flipped up the weight could come off and I was afraid the weight would hit my foot. I was using on dumbbells. I returned. Amazon is great.

They were very well. They done get loose like the other things I have used.
