These were acquired for the purpose of restoring vending machines. The efficiency they provide and the quality of the finish they produce make them a highly worthwhile investment. They have also proven effective for cleaning appliances, and I am thoroughly satisfied with their performance.

It's good at cleaning metal surfaces like pots and pans that have become encrusted from accidentally burning food. I suppose it's good for lots of things. It's like metal sandpaper.

Nice and handy for scrubbing extra dirty dishes. I also really like that the pack has several different coarseness's to choose from. I don't have to use these often, but they're really nice to have on hand when the occasion arises.

Back in the olden days (the 1970-1980s), my even older mom used to use steel wool to scrape the dishes clean. Those scrapers lasted YEARS! I think it was the 1990s before I saw a replacement for one of them. When you're little, you use what works best, and it never occurs to that things can and will wear out and be unavailable. I acquired one somehow, but over the last 4 years, it has whittled away to almost nothing, so I bought this as a replacement. The most coarse works ok for that stuck-on-the-pot food fragments, but even after less than 10 uses, the steel wool feels like will not last more that a year or two of use. UPDATE: MAY 28 2019 This is NOT meant to last for years. You might get 1-3 WEEKS of continual use of this. Then it will crumble away into a pile of fine rust. But before it disintegrates it does a better job of scrubbing than the rough sides of sponges, or that plastic "scrub" mesh. Still not as good as those old hard metal meshes from the 70s and 80s, but better than what I've seen so far.

Can't go wrong using these cleansing pads for hard tough jobs. .very happy to see Amazon provides nthrm for us. They are hard to find on grocery shelves I guess the simple cleaning products font make a profit like the old fashioned ways to clean.. My Mom and Grandmother both used them . New invented ways are not always the best. Remember your Grandma and Mom knew best ❤️🙏🏼👍

There is no rust-proof coating on this steel wool, so ensure you do not get it wet. I won't fault the sellers for this because they make no claims about it being rust-proof. However, it was a disappointment for me. These didn't work for what I wanted to use them for, but they are very nice and come exactly as described. Would be great for any project NOT involving water.

Very effective. However, pieces drop when you rub which may clog your drain pipes.
