Q: Why does it get hot? A: It is normal for high-performance SSDs to generate heat during operation. Review: Faster, no problems with nvme card or mounting - This a a great case for my nvme stick. I moved my P3 4TB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe ssd from the former 10mbps lightweight ssk case to this hefty one and about doubled the transfer speed. It's a cooler running nvme with moderate performance in the 3000 range. The included cable was three times faster and longer than the cable that came with the old ssk case. Installation was just as easy. I changed my home server from a netbook running linux to the M4 mac mini. I use this ssk to host a media server and for daily network backups with a 4tb passport for mirror. This case is warm, but no warmer than the old one. I keep it on the mac mini case to increase the heat transfer to the mini. This is a great value and design for the money.

This a a great case for my nvme stick. I moved my P3 4TB PCIe Gen3 3D NAND NVMe ssd from the former 10mbps lightweight ssk case to this hefty one and about doubled the transfer speed. It's a cooler running nvme with moderate performance in the 3000 range. The included cable was three times faster and longer than the cable that came with the old ssk case. Installation was just as easy. I changed my home server from a netbook running linux to the M4 mac mini. I use this ssk to host a media server and for daily network backups with a 4tb passport for mirror. This case is warm, but no warmer than the old one. I keep it on the mac mini case to increase the heat transfer to the mini. This is a great value and design for the money.

I've been using this enclosure with my M4 Pro Mac mini for over a year and it has worked flawlessly. I love the heavy duty construction of the enclosure. It's all aluminum and helps transfer the heat away from the NVMe SSD. Just remember to connect it to one of the rear ports on the Mac mini.
