A Masterpiece in Controller UX & Ergonomic Design
I will buy this controller forever! As long as gamesir stays dynamic like the controller industry itself, and always evolves along with the new feature sets being introduced as devices evolve, if they keep up with the times.. I’ll be here to buy. This is the best controller I’ve had. One controller for all my devices My iPad, My iPhone, My PC. I’m impressed by these ridiculous levels of compatibility, you only press two buttons to get it to sync with the device you want it to play on, it syncs insanely fast - I love it! I got rid of my wireless Xbox controller. I still can’t believe this controller exists. It feels real good in the hands, like it carries durability in its bones. Some nice weight to it, not heavy, not light.. your hands don’t get tired from holding it. I can tell, due to how it was designed, it has counter balance which allows you to play super long without that discomfort that comes from most controllers I have used, aside from this… It feels real premium in your hands, it’s a masterpiece in game controller design in my eyes. I never knew, I would fall in love with a game controller. (to me, that’s crazy) but here I am, in love actually reaching for this damn thing to put in my bag or take to bed (I’ve never actively and enthusiastically reached for a controller attachment to my devices) it was always in mind “that one more thing Inneed to carry” and since it fell in that mindset, I never reached out for them. This one though, the mindset is.. I love you, so I reach out for it. But, in my case.. every controller I’ve had prior to this G8+, was uncomfortable, because of how unergonomic they are (ever find yourself holding your controller above your head to play your games at times because of shoulder or arm discomfort?) Yea.. stuff like that is what I’m referring to, those game controller designers must had not taken into account everything attached to our hands (arms and shoulders) which leads to the fatigue and discomfort and now here you are, with the controller above your head, playing the game. Luckily, Gamesir G8+ designers figured this out. This controller has a good enough width from left to right, to where, it sits in the ergonomic comfort zone, meeting me.. exactly at my shoulder length (therefore, my shoulders are not hunching in when playing) My shoulders now naturally stay aligned when playing my games.. which is how it should be, not the other way around — compressed to accommodate the controller. Impressive design when I sat and thought about it. No controller I’ve had, had provided me this level of comfort (and I’ve had many controllers from all game consoles and many third parties) Playing while sitting down or laying down, both orientations are super comfortable. At first, my thumb kept hitting the right analog stick (since the buttons are placed above it) I thought this would be an issue. I am aware, I can remove the stick and put it back on later, but that becomes tedious real quick! Luckily, after playing awhile, my hands must have gotten used to the feeling? Because it no longer bothers me, like it did when I first started using it. I guess maybe one day or two of gaming, acclimated my sensory to accept it. Cool - we move on. I mostly play Fighting Games, Soul Calibur, Dark Souls, Pascals Wager, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid, Fight Night. These are all intense several button engagements interactions… especially the fighter games.. The control does not lag, I have not experienced stick drift and the d-pad is SOLID! I’m impressed by the how instant it is. No lag. I have no idea what goodi they used, but this thing has no lag! I’m over here doing long combo strings and parrying attacks, with virtually any lag on a wireless controller. (Which is my way of playing) It’s very easy to use and set up. If you have issues just ask chat GPT, it will guide you. I had issues the first time (totally my fault) Insint do my usual (watch YouTube videos of setting up) So I failed to recognize that each device will get an existing game company platform (pseudo name) Shock 4, Pro Controller.. etc. so I was confused here. I expected it to say iPad, iPhone.. and in my confusion, somehow, someway, it was connecting my iPhone but connecting to my iPad, to fix it - long story short — (I had to ask chat gpt) it told me, I had to hold in the reset button in the bottom of the controller by the usb c, and this will reset the pseudo name and now your device will connect to it. This was the only issue I’ve had and it was my fault. Also if you find your controller doing rapid fire (which happens to me) just hold in the (m button) on the bottom left and it will turn off all the rapid fire. I somehow must be turning out rapid fire at times when I’m playing my fight games since my fingers Al over the place with the combos. This controller is a masterpiece! There’s a reason it’s hitting on YouTube reviews. Buy it, enjoy it, watch YouTube videos to know how to connect it on first try and not have issues on like me.

Responsive, Simple, Good Quality
I got this as a Christmas present for myself, because I use an iPhone 17 and tend to play games on my phone. I will be getting back into Genshin Impact, but for now I will be using Where Winds Meet as part of this review. This controller’s buttons are sensitive, but I say this in a great way. They’re responsive, no sticky or stuck buttons that I’ve noticed so far. The sticks are also sensitive in a great way, and best part is there’s no drifting. Where Winds Meet’s controls are responded to right on the dot as soon as you press any button on that controller. This controller connects via Bluetooth which I love very much, however, I do wish there was a plug-in so there doesn’t have to be sole reliability in the Bluetooth alone. I haven’t had any issues while playing Where Winds Meet though, so I hope it stays that way. My ONLY complaint is I have to take my case off in order to fit it properly to the controller, if I want to have it sit on there. Otherwise, you can really prop your phone anywhere and play on the controller that way. However, I refuse to take stars off for such a tiny issue. It looks and feels VERY durable but I don’t suggest dropping your controller anyway if you can help it, which is what can cause stick drift just as food particles and even dropping can also cause sticky buttons. I think overall I give this product 5 stars. I highly recommend it; it’s worth the money. Bluetooth, portable, durable, easy to use. PS: I took this out of the package and used it as soon as I got this, and it still had a great battery life. Eventually I will need to charge it to see how long it lasts, but that is… wow. I love it.

One of the best controllers I've ever used, period - puts PS5 and Switch Pro to shame
I'm very impressed with this controller. I initially bought it to use with my iPhone, but it became my go-to for both PC and Switch! On PC, it's gotten me through thousands of hours including every FromSoft game and several online shooters. On Switch, it's significantly better than the stock Joy-Cons. Despite all the use, there's no sign of wear yet. Its features particularly impress. Despite its smaller size, it's as comfy as a standard PS5 or Switch Pro controller. Buttons are fantastic, with the Vita-style D-pad being the best I've ever used on a controller! Playing Celeste felt amazing on this thing. The Hall effect sticks feel much nicer than a PS5 or Switch controller's and should last longer too. Rumble, gyro, and rapid-fire are all available and useful. And I can't do controllers without back buttons anymore; this one has 2 of them, usable even on the Switch 1. The swappable stick covers and ABXY layout are nice bonuses - I particularly like the GameCube-style stick. My only complaints are cryptic firmware upgrade and customization, which seem to require wirelessly pairing it to an iOS or Android device and using the GameSir app. I haven't found a way to do this on PC yet. Also, the controller's large feature-set is poorly documented and mapped, so you'll need to study the manual carefully to get the most out of it. But these are small in light of how excellent the controller is overall.

Great controller overall, but still not perfect on iPhone, get ready for some frustration.
Ok, overall, it's great, good size for big hands. Makes me confident to play games unlike some smaller controllers that just don't end up feeling right. Love that the sticks are swappable, and the fact that they're hall effect, means they should be the longest lasting sticks around. Here's the big caveat, for me. Houston we've got a problem. Many games now are smart enough to look at what kind of controller is connected, even on mobile, which is impressive that companies are putting that much thought into mobile games again. That being said, on the g8+, if you're using an iPhone, it connects as if it's a Playstation controller. I'm sure that's for best compatibility or features or some such, but there's a problem in that. It's got xbox buttons... So when games are smart enough to look at what buttons to display for the prompts and such, now it shows Playstation buttons. I've been a Nintendo and Xbox gamer for the majority of my console gaming life, and while I have some playtime with PS controllers, it pales in comparison with my familiarity of the standard abxy layout. This is far from the end of the world, and some games go above and beyond and let you override the button prompts to match whatever you want, but not all of them.. This isn't enough for me to return the controller, but it will irk me until the day I move on to a new controller most likely. The buttons are replaceable as well, so I thought well maybe gamesir will have different buttons to drop in?? Nope, there are some 3d printed ones available, but they look terrible and presumably feel worse. In the end, for the price, it's a good controller, but for a few bits of over missed marks, it's not perfect.

Great quality controller for your tablet! Best of the best!
This is by far the best mobile controller I’ve ever bought. Yes, it’s pricier than most—but considering the build quality and features, it absolutely earns its price tag. I originally got it for my Fire Max 11, mistakenly thinking it would fit. Unfortunately, it was too small for the tablet, which was disappointing because the controller itself felt so well-made. Luckily, I found an extension add-on that increases the G8 Plus width to over 16 inches—and that completely changed the game for me. With the extension installed, I’m incredibly happy. The layout and feel are very similar to an Xbox controller, though the separated hand grips take a little getting used to, especially with a larger tablet like the Fire Max 11. A neat bonus: if you position the controller and tablet just right, the controller doubles as a stand. I slide the controller down slightly after resting the bottom of the tablet on the table, and the controller's corners act like feet to keep it upright. One of my favorite features is the swappable thumbsticks. The faceplates on both sides are magnetically attached and pop off easily, letting you switch out the sticks. It comes with three sets—each with different textures—and one smaller thumbpad that I’m using on the right stick to keep it from interfering with the A button (big hands here!). Battery life has been more than enough for multi-hour sessions, and the auto power-on feature when you expand the controller is a nice touch. It connects almost instantly to the tablet once powered on. Overall, this is a top-tier mobile controller—worth every penny if you're serious about tablet gaming.

Super Comfortable and Responsive Controller
I’ve been using the GameSir G8+ for a couple of weeks now, and honestly, it’s one of the best controllers I’ve owned. The grip feels really comfortable — even during long gaming sessions, my hands don’t cramp up like they do with some other controllers. The buttons are responsive and clicky without being too stiff, and the analog sticks are precise for shooters and racing games. I also love the extra customizable buttons on the back — they make certain game moves way easier. Setup was simple, and it works seamlessly with both PC and Android. Battery life is solid too; I can go for hours without worrying about recharging. If you’re looking for a reliable, comfortable, and responsive controller, the G8+ is definitely worth it. I’m really happy with my purchase!

Best mobile controller I have used! Much faster/higher polling rate then SCUF Nomad, Tested!
This mobile controller is so comfortable and supurior to any other mobile controller I've used in the past. It feels like you're holding an Xbox controller in your hands. The rear programable buttons are in the perfect place for your fingers, and the app and firmware options are awesome. You can pick which firmware upgrade you would like if you expand the options in the app. The interchangable thumbsicks are also a plus. The physical thumbstick movement is so smooth and fluid, it feels equal to my Razer Wolverine V3 Pro Xbox controller. I'm amazed at this price point. Now, about the polling rate..... Superior to SCUF. I bought this controller and the SCUF Nomad as a replacement for an older mobile controller. Using SCUF's own testing app, which apparently works with any Bluetooth controller, the polling / refresh rate of this controller was so much smoother then SCUF's. I noticed something was off compared to this GameSir G8, so I used testing the response of each using SCUF's own iOS app. There is an option in the app to adjust sensitivities and so forth where it shows the thumbsticks on-screen and where you are moving them. When you test the thumbsticks on the SCUF Nomad controller, you can see the movement on-screen is not very fluid in the app, i.e. a bit choppy. You can even see this on YouTuber's who have shown videos of this testing. You can see it's not fluid, like comparing 60FPS (which would be the GameSir) to 30FPS (SCUF) is the best way to explain it. You can see the difference. If I turn on my GameSir G8 Mobile Controller, also using Bluetooth, the thumbsticks are very smooth and fluid, a night and day difference between the SCUF controller, so there's obviously not a high polling/refresh rate on SCUF controller. For whatever reason, the SCUF app will show other controller's movements when paried, so you can see how smooth the movement is on the GameSir G8 compared to the SCUF, literally twice as fast. Considering this is a SCUF brand, I expected it would be much better. I only tested them both because I felt there was a strange sensitivity issue playing driving games. Sure enough, their own app proves it. I wish I would have done some screen capture videos of it, but I didn't think of it at the time before returning it. I've heard alot of great things about GameSir and definitely was a bit skeptical, but after owning this controller, I will be looking at their other products. I'm looking forward to upgrading my iPhone and buying the USB-C version of this controller, which I may not even need considering the latency of this playing iOS native games is non-existent. And this controller has rumble on it. I'm definitely a new customer to this brand. A+ all the way!

bad USB C jack, but please read
To save some people the trouble, I thought I'd write a review addressing my experience with this controller. As my title states, the USB C jack was bad. In my case the actual connection between the cable and the jack was fine, it was the whole jack assembly, that moved around inside the controller. I use mobile controllers on my PC and always with a wired connection. The loose connection would frequently cause rapid disconnect and reconnect constantly until I moved the jack around, but sometimes it wouldn't really be a full disconnect so the controller would constantly send whatever signal was input until the jack was moved. This means if you were having your character walk slowly forward, when the issue happens they keep walking forward and you have to quickly realize that's happening, and move the jack around before your characters walks off a cliff or into a boss room you weren't ready for. Note that removing and reconnecting the USB C cable did nothing. It was only when the jack was moved that the issue stopped temporarily. I did not abuse the item in any way, it seriously did this out of the box, and it was new and sealed, this was not a used or warehouse item. To be fair something like this, I hope is just a one off defect, but I've seen some reviews on other controllers from this manufacturer that stated there were some issues with both wired and wireless connections and I did not want to take the chance. I was actually very sad I had to return this because outside of the issue causing the controller to randomly stop working, it was VERY good. The hall effect sticks are night and day levels of difference compared to any other sticks I've used. Very hard to find on a quality controller and this was SO close. Outside of this my other issues with the controller were more personal preference regarding button placement. The "menu" button (the one with "+" on it) on the right side of the controller is too close to the "x" button. It doesn't look like it from the pictures, but it's very close and very easy to accidentally press "x" while trying to press it. Ideally I prefer for these buttons to be placed between the joystick and the "abxy" section, and likewise on the left side, between the joystick and the d-pad. The other thing I don't like but this is 90% of the aftermarket controllers right now, is the programmable buttons on the handles. I've never had an issue with paddles that sit in BETWEEN the handles, but the ones actually ON the handles, I've never found to be in the right places for my hands and overall it's annoying to have accidental presses when handling the controller in general. These should really be moved to the back of the center of the controllers. It's possible I'm the only one that doesn't like this common placement location, but I feel like I can't be the only one. The item overall seems to be of good quality, it's just the USB C jack, which I suspect a lot of people will not use, but I'm not sure if that may cause issues with charging, which people WILL use. If gamesir can fix the issue with the jack, I'm sure a lot of people will love this controller. I wish I could give a higher rating but a bad data/charging jack, is just not acceptable.

One of the best telescopic controller for mobile and a all-rounder if you have multiple devices.
The GameSir G8 Plus is honestly one of the best multi-platform compatible controllers out there. It feels amazing in hand, with solid build quality and very comfortable grips. The Hall Effect sticks are a huge plus smooth, precise, and built to last. Latency isn’t bad at all, making gameplay responsive and enjoyable. The stretchable design makes it easy to fit different devices, and the extra thumbsticks plus customization options really take the experience to another level. The only downside is the app it works, but it could definitely be improved. Overall, an excellent controller that delivers great value and performance.

Maravilhoso!
