They are not widely known in the USA.Impressed with their un-technological appearance, I ordered 64 Sunmeg candelabra-base 4-Watt filament-LED bulbs to replace older-style Philips light-guide LED bulbs in six antique chandeliers between two 1940 - 1950's era houses. The filament-LED bulbs restored the chandeliers to vintage look and cast a warm incandescent-like glow about the room. The crystal glass bulb is a further attraction when the bulbs are unlit.Originally, the fixtures had been served by incandescent 'forward-phase' 2-wire Lutron dimmers which functioned acceptably -- although with a bit of flicker at some settings -- with the Philips bulbs.The Sunmeg bulbs are inoperable with this dimmer type: 'reverse-phase' / ELV dimmers are required and can be obtained from Lutron, Leviton, and others. ELV units require that neutral wire be available in the wallbox, and is generally not present in older homes having knob and tube wiring.We therefore reverted to ordinary wall-switches, with some justice, as the houses themselves were built in the pre-dimmer epoch. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great bulb if they will fit in your fixture. *by K***Y on Reviewed in the United States on December 11, 2016* We have purchased 2 packages of 8 of these bulbs. They work great in our dining room and work perfectly with one of the dimmers that are referenced in the description. You can't tell that they aren't traditional bulbs when they are on and the light is beautiful.We found that they didn't work in other fixtures because just above the metal threaded part of the bulb there is a wide plastic ring that was incompatible with the fixtures in our foyer and hallways. The first attempt to screw a bulb in resulted in no electrical contact. When we tried tightening the bulb for contact, the ceramic socket in the light fixture cracked.On the whole we like the bulbs but because of the ring between the threading and bulb, they really aren't a universal led replacement ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent light coverage with this bulb -- very good in chandeliers where the bulb sits in glass cups for diffusing light. *by D***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2017* These candelabra bulbs were purchased for a ceiling chandelier in which the bulbs sit in frosted glass cups, which are supposed to catch and diffuse the light.. The fact that they give light in such a large radius (without the sizable plastic base common to other LEDs) really makes it work. The large base LEDs would shine the light out the mouth of the frosted glass cup, while these LEDs fill the cups with light. The effect is significant.I would note that these LEDs, like other modern dimmable LEDs, require you to have a modern extremely low voltage (ELV) dimmer or the bulbs will glow even when off, and will buzz. I contacted the seller (Jie Jia Technologies) and they sent another bulb immediately, no questions asked (it is currently in transit).
