LG AN-MR18BA Magic Remote Control (2018 Model)

This is a great remote - it came with my new LG TV and it is very functional and has some handy shortcuts. It feels a little weird in my hand, at first I kept wanting to hold it upside down, but I got used to it. I think I would like it better if it was more the traditional rectangular shape, but at least I can easily recognize it out of the remote pile. Here is the B U T !!!!!! I bought the remote so both my wife and I would have a remote. The problem is, only one remote can be fully functional at a time! The cool cursor only works on the last remote that was synced. Otherwise, both remotes seem to be fully functional at the same time. As a work around, I plugged a USB wireless mouse receiver into the TV and the mouse will control the cursor at the same time as the remote. My wife likes using the mouse better than the remote, so we are both happy!

This is a great remote for LG TV's for two reasons. is the onscreen pointer. The pointer makes doing some tasks much easier like navigating web sites on the web browser. But the best feature is the voice control. You can open apps, inputs and settings with this remote. You can also use Google Assistant and Alexa using this remote. Be sure to turn off Audio Guidance in Settings/Accessibility for the TV as neither the pointer nor the voice function will work with it on. This is not a great universal remote. It won't allow me to control my sound bar using the optical output. You have to use the HDMI ARC output. You don't have full control over your cable/satellite box either. You can pause/[lay TV change channel and volume. That's about it. If you want a great universal remote get a Logitech Harmony. However if you want to easily control your TV then this is the remote for you.

Pretty great so far! You do need to add a service like Alexa to use this remote, which isn’t made clear in any instructions from the manufacturer. I will add that the roller wheel seems to already be going, but that seems to be an intermittent issue that only I have noticed out of the whole family thus far.

I've only had this for less than 3 months and the center wheel broke. Now I have no way to do the select function. I've past the return time si basically it's junk.

The remote that is provided with an out-of-the-box LG TV is horrible, requiring you to upgrade to this remote that SHOULD have been provided. The original remote was all the same size buttons arranged in rows and columns with no tactile reference points. Good luck finding the right button without a brightly lit room. This remote solves that problem. It also eliminates the endless scrolling to get through menus by using a point-and-click cursor, similar to using a mouse on your computer.

Mi experiencia ha sido muy satisfactoria. Cuando compré el SmartTV de LG empecé a usarlo con el mando a distancia que viene de fabrica y la experiencia fue bastante aceptable. Más adelante empecé a usar la APP oficial de LG para el smartphone y la experiencia mejoró notablemente ya que podía usar el puntero para acceder a las funciones del televisor de una forma más práctica y sencilla aunque la sensibilidad con la que se movía el cursor por la pantalla dejaba mucho que desear. Al poco tiempo leí un artículo sobre el LG Magic Control, me decidí a probarlo y estaba agotado, literalmente, en toda España. Por fín lo he podido conseguir en Amazon y realmente, cuando lo usas, se convierte en algo INDISPENSABLE para el uso del SmartTV. La instalación es muy sencilla. Hay que vincularlo con el televisor. Se hace apuntando al televisor (obviamente, con éste encendido) y pulsando el botón OK (pulsación central sobre la rueda de desplazamiento). Este modelo es para televisores a partir del año 2018. La velocidad del puntero es muy fluida y precisa, nada que ver con la experiencia con la APP. Puedes controlar todas las funciones del televisor de una forma mucho más interactiva y eficaz. Al principio, la sensación es un poco confusa porque tiendes a apuntar a la parte de la pantalla donde quieres mover el puntero, pero más tarde te das cuenta de que el puntero se adapta al movimiento del mando sin que tengas que apuntar a ningún sitio en concreto y enseguida te haces con el control. Además, no se cómo lo harán, pero mediante el menú de configuración del televisor, puedes configurar el mando para que funcione con cualquier dispositivo que tengas conectado al mismo. Yo lo he configurado para que funcione con el TiVo de ONO y funciona a la perfección. Cuando, en el televisor seleccionas la entrada del TiVo, el Magic Control automáticamente "deja de responder" a las funciones del televisor para responder a las del decodificador. Los comandos de voz están muy bien conseguidos. Puedes decirle comandos como "ver telecinco", "sube el volumen" o incluso puedes decirle el nombre de un programa y el mando hace que el televisor te lo busque, tanto si se está emitiendo en ese momento, como si se va a emitir en las próximas horas. También puedes decirle comandos de búsqueda en internet como "restaurantes en Córdoba" y el mando hace que el televisor abra el explorador web proporcionándote una lista de resultados. Por rizar el rizo, su tacto es bastante agradable y su peso es muy reducido, características que aportan una comodidad extra en su uso habitual. Además, enseguida te haces a la distribución de las teclas y pronto empiezas a utilizarlo casi sin mirarlo, lo que es bastante cómodo para ver la tele en la cama a oscuras. En general, estoy muy satisfecho con la compra.
