good book for helping early readers

These were so helpful to do with my daughter as she prepared for 2nd grade! The passages were well written and it definitely helped with her comprehension!

I like it

Most importantly, these stories are full of grammar mistakes. There are many incomplete sentences, missing commas, and even incorrect verb tenses ("had not showed up" - this is incorrect, it should read "had not shown up"). I got these to help my child improve her reading comprehension and did not anticipate an educational workbook giving her examples of how NOT to talk/write. The stories are just dumb. This is hard to explain but stories in other books like this make sense, these are just weird! Also, the stories feature kids who talk about their parents "getting mad at them" which is not a message my kid needs. The book is thin and flimsy and the printing even looks low quality.
