As the cards come in categories the games are slightly different to the conventional way of playing. When playing the games the cards will have to be matched as categories, instead of a matching image. The 4 categories are Animals, Home, Tools and Transport. Therefore if you have a Dog card, it can be snapped, paired or build a full house with any other animal eg, Cow, Duck or Horse. Full instructions come with the cards as well. This is so easy to use but you do need your own paint brush and a small jar of water. With each brushstroke, the image is revealed and after it dries, the image fades back to a white canvas. This is reusable over and over again. One weekend my parent was ‘painting’ with this and another weekend, a 5 year old neighbor played with this. It’s a great pastime for an elderly person with memory issues. They don’t realize that they are not actually painting the image. Offers fascinating insights as a caregiver. But I found the artwork on the cards to be confusing or atypical items that a regular fella would have no idea what it is... it’s caused confusion to my clients- so I only use about half the cards because my clients can’t figure out what some of the food pictures and transport pictures are supposed to be. I’m going to wind up making my own cars with pictures so we can properly play the game. However, the quality of the cards is VERY NICE. I hate to put anything negative because this company is FANTASTIC. Hopefully they choose better, more universal card photos next time. My mother in law has Alzheimer's and doesn't do many activities anymore. She spent half an hour painting with me this weekend. It was nice to have something that was not too challenging and not at messy. And the fact that they can be used over and over is plus. I guess my only suggestion would be to add a few paintbrushes to make it complete. I had some on hand but it would make it more convenient for those that don't.
