Just what I wanted. Good value.
Arrived on time. Delivery driver made 2 attempts to deliver early evening, then came back at 8.45 for a final attempt, and this time we were in. That's excellent service. Well done.

Last time
The item is fine however this is the last time that I buy alcohol from amazon. Being asked to show, yes show proof of age is ridiculous as I am over 70. Pubs and bars don't ask for proof why should these?

Of the 3.4% budget range, by far the best.
This is the last of 3.4% ABV beers from Greene King for me to try, and it's the only one that I haven't had before. Based on my previous experiences with these 'make 'em cheap & knock 'em out cheap' beers from Greene King, my hopes were not high for this beer. I was actually pleasantly surprised with this one. I will start by saying that it's not a patch on what I Know Greene King are capable of, having tried their superior quality ales, but - for the price - this one is surprisingly acceptable. There is no kind of false marketing at play here, it is what it says it is, an easy-drinking and very sessionable Golden Ale. As is to be expected with this kind of ABV, the taste is lighter than one would get from a stronger beer, but it is more pronounced than in either of their other budget lines, and it looks great in the glass. The carbonation starts off lively, but settles down to a consistent bubble, and the 1 finger head fades gently. The aroma is a standard Golden Ale aroma, tropical fruits with a hint of citrussy bitterness, and this carries through in the taste, it doesn't linger, but is very moreish. It's not going to blow any minds, it's pedestrian and very standard, but for ยฃ1 per bottle, it does represent excellent value. You could do a lot worse than this for the summer months. It is - as is standard for Greene King - sold in a clear colourless bottle, and I should take a point off for that really, although out of the three beers I've had in this budget range, none of them have been affected by light-strike, so they're obiously being appropriately stored. I decided in the end to go with four stars on this, because - whilst it's not outstanding - it is head and shoulders above its other rival offerings in this budget range, so I couldn't very well give it three, as that's what I gave the Ruddles Best. It's probably three stars in terms of being a beer, but the value element just nudges it up to four. If you're interested in trying any of the budget range from Greene King, this is the one that I would - without hesitation - recommend to you.
