After two days of use, very happy with these bulbs so far! They work exactly as described for my outdoor lights, turning on at dusk and off in the morning. No more accidentally leaving the lights on all day or making delivery drivers come up to the house in the dark! If you flip the switch for these bulbs during the day, they will come on for a few seconds to show you that they are working and then turn off/return to the light-sensing mode, which I found very helpful!

I have been an electrician and California contractor since 1976. I have tried dozens of devices of this type. This is by far the best in its class I have ever seen. It seems to adjust to poor light and to operate perfectly from night to day even under poor conditions. It turns off reliably even in daytime shade. I have sold and given away a couple of dozen of these over the last 6 months and every one is working well. While writing this I am ordering more to use in my own porch and garage front fixtures. I rarely give 5 stars to anything but this one is a great find and deserves it. For the average consumer this is the easiest and cheapest way to get the dusk to dawn function in a standard fixture without having to add a photo sensor or change anything besides the bulb.

Often I would forget to turn on or to turn off my porch or over garage lights. Replaced with these bulbs and they come on at dusk and off at dawn. Very bright light. Product was delivered in time and well packaged. No more worries about if I turned lights on or off. Would recommend

Great bulbs. It's so nice to not have to worry if your out later and didn't turn your outside light on. This light comes on and and goes off in the morning! Will definitely be purchasing more

I like the brightness of the bulb and the fact that I don’t have to remember to turn the light on and off. What I hated was the fact, I purchased the bulbs in September, it’s only February, the bulb only lasted 5 months, NOT good. 😆😆

I purchased these for the two fixtures on my covered front porch. we were constantly forgetting to turn off the switch every morning and sometimes in the evening for getting to turn it on. We live on a dead-end street so when our porch light is off it is very dark. When they arrived, out of habit I suppose, I shook each bulb and one of them made a rattling noise almost like a regular old school bulb when it burned out, just a bit louder. I assumed it wouldn't work, however, after screwing it in it worked great. as you can see from the photo my porch is significantly covered and they do not recommend having them this close together because they could shut one another off. I have not had that problem. The sun sets behind my house so it gets darker on my front porch earlier, but these do not turn on until it is dark outside which is great. Highly recommend.

I live in a near 50 year old home. As such it suffers from electrical system inconveniences that dictate purchase decisions. I’d love to automate some functions in the home, but too many cables entering junction boxes, smallish junction boxes surrounded by tile, etc can be limiting. I was enthusiastic about the simplicity, convenience and functionality of these bulbs when first purchased. I have 2 carriage style lamps (like every house this age) on either side of my garage door. They are perfectly placed to act as security lights for the front of my home. I like the dawn to dusk function of the bulbs....only lit after dark no matter what season or whether we are in daylight savings time or not. No fiddly programming to mess with, no in wall wiring to disturb. Heaven knows it’s been messed with enough as it is. Low energy consumption. And, I don’t have to remember to turn it on or shut it off. Perfect, right? So, why a one star rating? Everything worked well for 11.5 months, then one light started flashing on and off intermittently when it should be on. And when it did manage to stay on it was 1/4 as bright as when new. This is one of at least 10 various “long lasting” led’s I’ve purchased that have been non-functional out of the box, don’t properly dim tho supposed to be dimmable, work intermittently, or work a much shorter period of time than the incandescent they’re replacing. My solution this time? A trip to my local big box hardware store to buy at a higher price point a name brand led bulb (hint: large company that goes by two initials and is way older than I am). Engineered differently by outward appearance, and comes with a multiple year guarantee. I’m hoping that this time I get what I paid for.
