Special Features Review: Great quality and play all feature - I actually bought this over a year ago! I just started watching it now! Love the picture quality and most importantly the Play all feature. I don't really like the snap into place case but no disc are damaged. Review: Base off startreck - Good series if you like sci-fi

Awesome series!
This series was absolutely fantastic! Powerful story! Very well written! Main character is off the chain! Filled in some missing gaps in young Spock's life. About to "binge-watch" this again! Deserves at least 10 โจ

Decent series, lousy storage case
Been a fan of ST since the original TOS. I own the first DVD release full set. Plus the movies. #5 filled me with the urge.. For the most part, I do not do streaming, but I saw a few episodes of STD 1st and 2nd seasons on over the air tv and liked it so much I borrowed it from the local public library. Some episodes made my hair (as with Saru's fear spines) stand on end so I purchased the whole series thinking holy cow! wow!! Looking back.. maybe this is a one-view wonder. Well maybe 2 or 3 views since there is so much there. There are elements of TOS canon the producers held to and extended. Bravo to them and food for thought. TOS used a small number of plot devices (warp drive, transporter) but STD extends this into the 26th century with so much more that does make it interesting to watch, but I found myself fast forwarding through some of the personal interactions -moments of slow and low chatter and (I'm not a prude but) parts I would not want my children to see or hear. Overall, this is what nearly $10 million per episode can produce. Imagine what TOS could have done with that kind of support, funding and cine tech (if it existed back then)!! I'm no one to be any good at criticism. I liked the themes, acting and characters and plot twists, but it also seemed to be another video hazard-of-the-week show. STD is art and beholden to the viewer. At least they quit after 5 seasons.. before jumping the shark. lol One thing I really did not like was the packaging. The first three seasons had graphics printed on them that made them easily identifiable. The last two seasons were blu-ray disks with nothing but blue and see-thru printing that left my old eyes hard to read. Oh, and disk 2 of season 4 refused to read in my good quality LG player. I thought I was going to return the set. Not a blemish on it anywhere and I ended up playing it on my deskside computer blu-ray burner. Weird! Add to that the ridiculous cheesy clamshell disc case. I worry of breaking a disc trying to remove them, and stacking two discs together risks scratching the discs. -stupid! So much for 50 bucks.. One star off for that. k

Discovery...and acquired taste
While it's my least favorite of all the star trek series I wanted to have it. My only complaint is the way it is packaged...horribly. The discs are stacked on top of each other and some are very difficult to remove. I almost felt like i was going to break them taking them out. As for the series itself...well...not the best star trek out there. But if you are a more modern star trek fan you may want to check it out. For someone like me around since the original it leaves much to be desired. Some REALLY annoying characters, but some great ones as well.

Some unplayable discs.
Many discs had flaws that prevented playing without glitches. Checked on two different players. May be due to packaging design, letting surfaces get damaged.
