Okinos Aqua 3, Micro ATX Case, MATX PC Case with 3 X 120mm 3-Pin ARGB Fan Pre-Installed, Panoramic View Tempered Glass Front & Side Panel, with Type C Port, Black

Review: USM - It took a bit longer to arrive, but this is an excellent computer case, professionally designed and well-engineered, highly recommended.
Review: Overall, I love this case, it looks beautiful, has style, and works very much as intended - Bought as a gift for my son, so this is his review: Taking a chance with this brand of case with both style and affordability, I was quite pleased at how well the case is constructed and feels. Yes, the metal is thin and has a little flex, it’s not that big of a deal and is well built. Contrary to some complaints other reviewers had with the PCI-E cover on the back, I had zero issues with this and feel it might be user error as you’re only supposed to unscrew it a little and slide it back and forth. The only time the thumb screw for the back plate needs to be removed, is to access the screw for the 3rd slots screw, but because the plate itself has holes for a screwdriver to go through it’s clear this plate is simply not designed to be removed; thus, I encountered no issues, and it worked as advertised. The RGB fans and fan controller work quite well actually. The fans each house 6 LEDs, and the fan controller can be plugged into the motherboard. If you press the LED switch on the front of the case, your motherboard is overridden and the fans follow your preference (there is no way to allow the motherboard to regain control of the controller if you do this, you have to power the computer down and turn it back on to allow the motherboard to regain control over the LED controller). If you wish to allow the motherboard full control over the LED controller and not have a button, you can absolutely repurpose the LED button as a “reset” button instead if you desire as well. The glass is extremely clear, and I mean extremely clear. I love how well the glass looks, and the edge-to-edge corner is quite straight. In fact, the glass door is so nice and easy to slide, compared to my ThinkCentre I had before this (which was designed to be easily maintained in the field) had a door that took more effort to slide, and this Okino’s case does. In fact, you can open the panel with one pinky finger it’s that smooth to open. Also, while it’s not entirely obvious, the fans at the top come shipped as exhaust fans. One reviewer complained this is backwards and would heat up your computer, however this is not correct. Per convection cooling, hot air rises, thus you want to pull that air out. The “skirt” on the bottom of the computer is also an intake vent, and with very fine mesh holes it acts as a natural filter that simply needs a wipe down over time, but you do absolutely want the 3 fans it ships with set as exhaust, or you might trap heat in. You can however if you purchase slim 120mm fans, mount them to the bottom inside of the case, as the case comes with long screws just for this purpose, that way if you use slim 120mm fans at the bottom inside of the case they can be configured as intake and pull cold air into the system. There are spots for 2 slim fans, however with a 1080 Ti and Ryzen 5 8600G (both are not overclocked and the 8600G is using the Wraith Stealth cooler it comes with), neither are actually thermal throttling though do get close to Tjmax (both are 10c short, so if you do add intake fans to the bottom, you can greatly improve this). Overall, I love this case, it looks beautiful, has style, and works very much as intended. I will say this, when you construct the computer and are routing the power cables, due to limited space in the bottom, take your time and have a lot of patience. If you have a modular PSU like I do, while it is a pain to get cables attached unless you have small hands, it will help with airflow however by not having lose cables in the bottom skirt just for the sake of having them there. Remove un-used cables for best airflow from your modular PSU and the convection cooling will work far more efficiently.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great DIY customization friendly product for the price.
*by M***D on 17 October 2024*

The case is what I would call "DIY customization friendly" and good quality for the price. If you want to DIY install additional front bay peripherals, - like a DVD ROM and a card reader, - you certainly can. In my case I had to do it for a client. I Dremelled the front steel mesh for those, and used aluminum corners to mount both of these to the bottom. Of course, - I had to change the case's cooling scheme because of these DIY modifications (which be warned!) is a " - 3" negative pressure scheme (meaning the 3 fans are positioned to blow air OUT of the case, and air gets passively sucked in from the bottom of the case where there is a mesh. (Which makes the magnetically attached filter to the top of the case - perfectly pointless, filters belong on the bottom where the air goes in). The top filter mesh makes more sense if you choose to do what I did and convert it to +1, -2 negative pressure system (Top front fan blows air inward, the 2 others blow air out of the case, pls. see photos for clarification This is the best scheme if you want to have a large tower cooler with a fan in front. Prime95 testing confirmed this was a viable scheme with temps staying 8-10C below the CPU's TjMax at 100% CPU occupation. The fans are not particularly fast, but they are surprisingly quiet for a budget PC case. The only hiccup (you may want to be aware of) is that only after I did the aforementioned DIY modifications (thereby voiding warranty), did I realize that the fan control PCB was missing a SATA male power to SATA Female power - to 4pin ARGB power adaptor. And while it could be poor QC on company's behalf, it's also true the seller (if different from the maker company) could have checked if everything was included without voiding the warranty before submitting the PC case kits to Amazon handlers/shippers. I decided to take the stars off with seller, since doing so in both reviews would feel too vindictive. If I was somehow incorrect about this - I do hope the seller contacts me so that I would adjust the rating my reviews accordingly. Still, it wasn't cool because I had to either settle for ARGB working for just one fan (not acceptable), or purchase a pack of fans for $40 separately, which is what I did. I could have simply purchased a SATA power cable adapter but it was $26 plus shipping for anything that ships fast, and I wasn't 100% sure the native Okinos board was functional to begin with.
