Recently the pulleys in both hands have become really painful and unhappy due to overuse, and I started taping using the H-taping method to support my pulleys during climbing. I've tried three other tapes besides this one: Jaybird, which is what they were selling at the gym, Curad, which they were providing for free at the gym, and Hampton Adams. Jaybird and Hampton Adams were too soft and stretchy to provide enough support, and the adhesive wasn't strong enough to really stick through sweat and use. I actually like Curad quite a bit—it's stiff, rips easily (since scissors tend to get gummed up), and has pretty good adhesion, though it still has a tendency to lift or fray sometimes. I like Metolius for the same reasons I like the Curad tape, but I find it's even better because it's much, much, MUCH stickier. Especially if you give it an extra wrap and stick it to itself, thus tape essentially fuses together. It sticks through the entire session without peeling or fraying, and I've found it easier just to cut it off because peeling it can be downright painful. It's actually amazing how well tape can take the load off finger pulleys. I'm super happy with the performance of this tape, and so far my hands have been happy too.

I've been bouldering (indoor and outdoor) for a little over a year and a half and the biggest thing that would prevent me from climbing day after day was the torn fingertips and opened calluses. I tried using regular medical tape (the stuff u can get at walmart) but that didn't cut it at all because it would constantly fall off. I looked online and found this tape and read some reviews saying that it wouldn't come off and was really sticky so I gave it a shot. It works like a charm, it moves with your fingers (flexible) but doesn't slip off which is crucial on those small crimps. 5/5 good stuff at a good price. Hope this helps.

Best athletic tape I have ever found. This is THE tape to have for climbing. With some practice you can produce perfect crack gloves that will stay on, stay together, and are even reusable after taking them off (once or twice depending on how much use they get) The tape is tackier than any other tape I have tried, much tackier than Johnson and Johnson. It is also thicker, and provides for better wear than the above mentioned brand, but is still easy enough to tear into strips. Climbing 10+ pitches on a granite crack is doable on on set of gloves. I find that the price difference is VERY much worth spending for performance I get over other tapes, but your use may differ. Definitely recommended.

I bought this mainly as backup tape to keep around (I use thinner rolls for my fingers) and for cutting rope. It's keeping my rope ends nice and tidy and I couldn't be happier.
