I got these to supplement my open ear buds, and the difference between those and bone conduction is a remarkable difference. If I want noise-blocking, the are not the ones I use, but when I want to keep aware of the world for my safety, these are a great blend. I have a long ponytail and several cartilage ear piercings, and these fit over all of those with no irritation. Getting used to the bone-conduction spots took a couple days b/c it is a different feel than my other ear buds, but these have now become my favorite - even when I’m doing yard work and such.
