I would not believe it would withstand a heavier blade however, such as required for leather work. **Q: Is it resistant to heat? The Ansio model I've got (double sided blue / green) is not and is not flat anymore.** A: No, no self cutting mats are hear resistant to my knowledge unless the are glass or ceramic. **Q: How many are you meant to receive ?** A: One !! but when my order arrived there were 5 in the box. I suspected it was to do with the wording on the box. They are not packaged individually but sent to Amazon with 5 mats in the same box. I presume when they lift them off the shelf they take the whole box and send it to the customer instead of opening it and selecting just one mat which would then have to be carefully wrapped and packaged as if bent or folded would ruin the mat. I returned my extra 4 mats after a struggle to get them picked up but I suspect that maybe they are losing a lot of money with this packaging after all they are worth nearly £30 a mat.
