This light looked great on paper, but just didn't deliver. I carefully inspected the seal, adding a tiny amount of silicone grease, then went for a snorkel. Pretty much as soon as it was immersed, the light came on and wouldn't shut off. On inspection there was moisture behind the screen and in front of the LEDs. The battery compartment seemed dry so looks likely that this was the area of ingress. This has to be a build/quality control issue. I can see on other reviews that I am not the first with this issue.

I haven't used this yet underwater but I have the light out and it is very bright. I think it will work well. It has several settings

Works well photos show the illumination pattern with a Wide angle photo, was effective for dusk underwater photography by providing enough low level illumination of the area to provide situational awareness and a 1-2 meter zone with enough light for effective photography. There is a risk with some shots of long exposure times if the subject is too distant, these shots will invariably be very noisy and / or blurred (see third image).

This flash took my GoPro 13 diving videos from “okay” to “wow” instantly. Underwater lighting is no joke, but this little light cuts through dark, murky water better than anything I’ve used before. The colors actually show up the way you see them on the dive, and the details are incredibly sharp. I wasn’t sure how sturdy it would be on longer dives, but it didn’t budge. I also love that it has multiple modes — light, bright, and even an SOS setting. Super handy and way more versatile than I expected. Battery life is strong, and I can adjust everything easily, even with dive gloves on. This little powerhouse completely upgraded my underwater footage. If you’re diving with a GoPro 13, don’t hesitate. This flash is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend.
