They are easy to crimp, they snap in place, and they have worked flawlessly in a number of applications. The quality of the construction seems solid and they have worked great. I have not had any issues connecting to other brand Anderson Powerpole connectors. These are a ton cheaper then competing products so you get a solid product for an awesome price! Review: Great Product, fits SOME 12 Gauge Wire - These connectors/housings are an industry standard. I have no interest in using cheaper imported imitations. They're a good value for what you get; that it, a reliable connector that's relatively easy to assemble IF the Anderson instructions are followed. They have YouTube videos available. If you don't want to use the Anderson tool for assembly, a 1/8" flat blade screwdriver is much better than a pointed tool for seating the connector in the housing. Regarding whether they fit a particular gauge of wire, I can "conclusively" say that the included 30A connectors (the plastic part is the housing) fit SOME 12 gauge wire but not all. I tried stranded Southwire brand stranded 12 ga and it fit easily but that is not a type of wire that's appropriate for connections where constant moving and flexing is expected as it only has 19 coarse strands. I also tried some very flexible silicone insulated 12 gauge wire that has 680 very fine strands and it was too large to fit the 30A connectors.

Genuine Anderson power poles
These are genuine Anderson power poles with logos and markings in the plastic identical to other power poles I have. These are essential connectors in the amateur radio world. Price is good and free shipping for Prime customers clinches the deal.

You need the instructions
The complaint that I see for Anderson Powerpole Connectors is that they are hard to assemble. You need something to push the pin into the connector. I use an awl, but an Ice pick would work and then it is easy to assemble. Also the "order" you use to make a multiple connector (2 or more) is critical. putting a black on the right and red on the left will not mate with a connector with the red on the right and back on the left. Not a defect, but a feature. If you do not have assembly instructions, this package does not come with instructions, you need to download the instructions. I highly recommend the Anderson Powerpole Connectors. They are reliable, but also a challenge for a first time user.

The original, and still the best
This is the original, and still the best quality connector on the market. I have used some of the knock-offs, and they are ok, but I always prefer to use Anderson powerpoles when I can. They are sturdier, better quality, and last longer. I also prefer their contacts to the others as well. These are extremely well made, and they have great quality control for fit and finish. If you are into amateur radio (HAM) you have probably either used these already, or have seen them EVERYWHERE. This is the new standard, and with good reason. The contacts are designed so that any inrush current will arc on the tip, not the actual final contact point. There is no way to accidentally connect them backwards as long as they are assembled correctly. You can stack as many as you need for your project. They come in a multitude of colors, and they even have some with a key in one corner that I use for grounds so there is no way to accidently plug anything else into one of them. I love the Anderson products, and this is a great one.

Quality consistent with the brand-name product.
These are the real Powerpole connectors and the contacts do indeed accept #12 AWG copper wire. Very sturdy and well engineered. They are part of a service truck electrical distribution upfit. I have had good success with Anderson Power Products connectors. I suggest that users download the data sheets and installation instructions from the Anderson website since no information is supplied with these connectors. Third-party installation videos are often wrong with their directions; go to the manufacturer's website.
