I have connected my original pair of Goodmans Quartet speakers, plus a feed to two YAMAHA HS8 studio monitors, and the sound is excellent, and very powerful. I have also plugged my computer soundcard into the Sony via a jackplug to RCA adapter lead and that also matches up with no distortion or loss of sound quality. The components used in the manufacture of the amplifier are all heavy duty and the unit oozes quality in all respects, a mid -range price for a top-range product. The stereo receiver is an added bonus and was easy to set up and find channels, and I can now listen to the radio in full theatre quality surround sound. I have not tried the Bluetooth circuit or the 'portable audio device' socket, but feel sure they would work perfectly if required. For example, I started by trying to use “CD PLAYER” for Input 1 and came unstuck at the letter E. Stupid, or what? Eventually I settled for just “CD”! Simple but effective!. As others have stated, the renaming does not apply to the Phono (turntable) or BlueTooth inputs. I’m not using a turntable, so I can only assume that the display remains as “PHONO” when it’s in use. The BlueTooth input, however, produces a more informative display - “BLUETOOTH” when its selected, “PAIRING” when it’s hooking up with your external source device, and then the name of the external device once it’s connected. It is truly brilliant and so quick and easy to connect. **Q: i what to plug 4 speakers into this amp you need mominal impedance of 12 ohms or highter i can only find speakers with 6 or 8 ohms can someone help** A: Hi, I assume that you're referring to 2 pair of speakers. In that case, you should bear in mind that the extra pair share the power coming out of this 2 channel amplifier. In other words this means both pair speakers will under perform. Multiple speakers to a single amp would be quite the opposite to a bridged amp system. Short version: Connect the first pair of speakers to connection A of the amp and the other pair to B. The impedance settings of the speakers should satisfy the condition given just blow (in simple terms the speaker impedance total should be more the the amp minimum figure for A+B. Now select A+B after turning the power on of the amplifier (without this selection it'll be on A only as default). That's it. The condition: In your calculations of resultant impedance you'll need keep it above the safe limit specified at back of the amp. The speakers have lower and upper limits for the total (resultant) impedance of the speakers. That figure is normally given for example 4 ohm - 8 ohm. And you'll usually have a impedance selector at the back of the speakers. This selector can only be adjusted manually by hand or with a screwdriver. Long version: You'll only need this if you don't have A, B connections i.e. just one set of connections only. So, if you want to connect them in parallel. The parallel connection will halve the impedance if both pair of speakers have equal impedance. But this will cause more current flow in the internal circuit of the amp which you should account for. For this type of connection you'll want set the speaker impedance to the higher figure. The series connection on the other hand will double the impedance and significantly reduce the current flow in the amp. You'll want to set the impedance to lower figure. Now, the parallel connection is such that each single speaker would be wired directly to the amp. And the series connection will run from the first speaker (connected to amp) to the second one. Obviously, both of those situations are not ideal. So, you could instead use a selector box between the amp and the speakers. You'd then want to use a selector box with impedance balancing feature using variable impedance circuitry. I see that you're trying to preserve sound quality with your intended connection as opposed to a surround amp with multiple channels but you'll be loosing out on speaker performance.
