This one is much cheaper and has kept my Automatic watch going without any problem so far. Its quiet and if it lasts 18 month i will be a happy chap! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Better than the competition *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 August 2016* I bought this to replace a Time Tutelary (TT) watch winder which packed up after a couple of year's use. The TT winder is fairly similar to the Axis in looks and basic function and costs roughly the same, but the Axis seems a much better bit of kit:The Axis is nicer looking in my opinion and the hinged lid is neater than the TT which has a removable lid.The watch holder is better made, it is a spring loaded plastic job with felt pads that fits securely into the winder. The TT winder had a soft imitation leather pad which you just squashed into the winder.The Axis always returns to its original position after winding, so if you put the watch in the right way up (ie. 12 at the top) it will always come back to that position when finished winding, which is helpful if you want to be able to see the time when the watch is in the winder! A small thing but a nice touch.The Axis has a number of winding options, basically it winds 50 times then rests for a period which can be adjusted from about 1 hour to about 2 hours. The TT wound for 1 hour then rested for 4 hours.Best of all, the Axis automatically winds in both directions, which is much better for your watch. The TT has a manual direction change switch so unless you remember to change the switch every day it will only wind in one direction.The Axis does a much better job of keeping my Zenith watch wound. The TT winder used to only keep the watch running for a couple of weeks at most. I assume this was due to the TT winder's 1 hour on, 4 hours off routine not being sufficient, but also the watch is held in a more vertical position in the Axis which I think helps.I would chose this winder 100% over the TT, it costs about the same but has many more functions. The only drawback is that like most cheap winders, it is not quiet. You will certainly hear it if it is next to your bed.
