My albums were pretty much worn out so I jumped right on this collection, All albums contain the original members before they started splitting off, except Panama Red and the live CD have Skip Batten on bass. Buddy Cage is one of the greatest pedal steel players ever ,and David Nelson is ripping on guitar. I dont think the albums were remastered but the sound is still good to my ears. I love these CD package deals. Review: NRPS is one of the great albums from the 1970s and this is the only way to buy it. - I have always enjoyed the New Riders. Their first album, with Jerry Garcia on slide, Micky Hart and Commander Cody on several tracks, with Phil Lesh as producer makes this one exceptional. This is the only way I found to buy a NEW copy. The other discs are enjoyable and fun, but NRPS alone made the purchase worthwhile.

This 5 CD set is a fantastic deal. NRPS is one of the great albums from the 1970s and this is the only way to buy it.

Best value for getting into the NRPS as part of your cd collection.
Worth the price as the first album is with members of the Greatful Dead and you also get Adventures of Panama Red with this box set. This is all the NRPS you need unless you also own their NRPS Instant Armadillo Blues Best of 1971-1975. The other albums in the set are also great music, but Panama Red, Lonesome LA Cowboy, and Dirty Business are my favourite songs.

This is a very good value. 5 for the price of 1 . underrated underappreciated band I think. I like that each cd has the front and back of the original lp. A pleasant surprise.Gypsy cowboy is my favorite but this set is well worth the price.

Great Cd Box Set
No, who doesn’t like the New Riders of the Purple Sage, great band, great CDs, love everything about this set of 5 CD’s .

High quality, excellent value
You reading this? You know the music and have your memories like I do. This collection takes you back to those happy days of riding the trail and being the town rascal. What a fine way to replace those old discs and save a few dinero. Packaged in mini slip cases based on the original album art. Face it, if you're reading this, you want it. Do yourself a favour. Treat yourself to some real music.

You get all five albums and they're really good!
I'm old, grew up in East Tennessee. These came out when I was in college. They're great. Cross between old style country and Panama Red marijuana on the rise. For me, it's some great tunes!

Equal playback volume levels between albums
Just wanted to add to Jackie P's great review - read it. I really love these 5-disc collections of earlier artists so I can make CD playlists via my computer of just my favorite tracks (easier than using my vinyl copies), but way too often these collections have widely varying playback volumes. Not so w/this set - perfectly even playback levels between discs! The 3 live bonus tracks tacked on to the debut album (Down in the Boondocks, The Weight, Superman (which is again tacked to Gypsy Cowboy)) were recorded live in '71 at Fillmore West show, and were included on the '03 reissue of this album. It's so nice to have this inexpensive set - The Adventures of Panama Red is in my top 5 albums of all time - holds up very well for me.
