"I'm tired of feeling stressed out every day." "I can't stand having so little impact, despite caring so much and working so hard." "I just don't have anything left to give." Over years of developing and teaching their renowned Mindful Self-Compassion program, Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer have found MSC to be uniquely helpful for people struggling with the soul-draining depletion of burnout--from health care professionals, teachers, and caregivers, to tapped-out business owners and employees. Each chapter in this engaging book offers an empathic story of someone stretched to their limits and an easily digestible bite of self-compassion that culminates in a simple anti-burnout tool based on MSC practices. Learn quick and powerful ways to recharge your batteries, de-stress, and, above all, be kind to yourself--so you can be there for others. Review: I thought I knew what self-compassion was... - I would call this book life-changing, if you need self-compassion. This is my first time reading Kristin Neff. I thought I knew what self-compassion was until I started reading this book. It is set up for people who are burnt out to be able to get started without taking a lot of time. I have found it to be very helpful. There are 22 short chapters, each with a supporting exercise. I have learned a lot. It blends well with IFS theory / therapy, and I think it will help me access Self energy. Review: One of the best self-help books - This book really helps address the root cause of burnout and gives you the tools and help with the mindset to be kind to yourself and ease your way back out of burnout. Great read.

Invaluable!
A book that makes you feel truly understoodโexplaining the science behind burnout in relatable language and sharing practical tools to recover by addressing root causes you might not see or want to face (self-compassion, what?!). Reading one, then two chapters a day (I couldnโt take more at once), it became an invaluable companion on my path to recovery. A big thanks to the authors for their lifelong work and passion!

Exactly as described
It is day two of reading the book, I just finished chapter 2 and wanted to share with others, ASAP. This book is a great book whether you have read the others or is new to your journey of self-compassion. It is focused, as titled, on burn-out. I recommend it if you are experiencing it for yourself or if you know someone who is. Do not be afraid to be kind to yourself.

Wow!!!
Wow!!! Just binged it all in one day and was highlighting and scratching notes and dog earing pages to come back to, to do excersises etc. I'm not a "self help" book kind of reader so I was hesitant at first but less than 2 chapters in I knew I'd be finishing it today lol

Poor print quality
About 70 pages were inserted upside down and in reverse order. We first thought it was something intentional the author had done to create a teaching point-NOT! Given as a gift so this was embarrassing!

One of the most helpful resources for burnout
I've had a quite severe burnout that has lasted more than a year and have tried a combination of therapies including ACT, CBT, and etc to get me through. I find self compassion therapy the most helpful, and this book is a concise, and well written resource which enables you to integrate it in your life. I find it a simple intuitive framework that's easy to follow and connects with these other therapies. I now try to pause throughout my day when I'm dealing with a challenge, and intentionality respond in healthier ways by considering the three aspects of self compassion. I also find it especially works for me as I am a naturally compassionate and empathetic person, so I find it's easier if you have this in you to turn the compassionate inwards, and have recommended this therapy to like-minded friends. Life is still difficult and painful, but slowly but self compassion is helping me reduce the suffering where possible.

Helpful, practical book - written by experts in the field.
So much information, that is transferrable to other conditions as well. A brilliant practical book that explains self-compassion and how to use it in many relatable scenarios. Written by two of the most experienced self-compassion experts. Very well referenced with so much research backing up the suggestions. Listened on audible and then bought the book. A great resource in my work as a therapist and for me and my family too.
