I bought this particular pump at the suggestion of a man who owns a company that only deals in huge jobs and not residential fountains like mine. It is very solidly built and emptied my backyard fountain in minutes...very fast!! It is really meant for swimming pools, so it handles a small fountain super fast. Once a year, after running my fountain all summer, mud and debris collect in the basin where the pump sits and starts to turn the bubble at the top of my fountain muddy, so I use this to empty out the basin where the pump is and rinse the basin really well with a hose and put it all back together. This pump is great for the price of less than $100, and is stainless steele.

Works great. Have drained 3 pools now. Only downside is the pump tips over when drained and the shutoff was stuck in a position that it didn’t stop the pump. Just keep an eye on it as the water gets low. Great value and well built.

EASY GO INSTALL BUT THE TREAD CONNECTION TO PVC IS NOT THE STANDARD - PLASTIC PIECES MAKE IT OKAY TO CONVERT THE ATTACHMENT OF HOSE WORK. IT'S BEEN RUNNING VERY WELL AT A LOW NOISE LEVEL. SOME NEED FOR ADJUSTMENT TO MAKE THE FLOAT SWITCH FLOAT TO MOVE FREELY.

Do not buy. Pump worked for 3 month and died. Can not reach the manufacture by phone or e mail. Did buy the $16 dollar warranty which they refunded the pump amount but not sales tax and warranty is no good now. Warranty people would not replace pump with new one. So I am out $22 and no pump. (Cost of warranty and tax)

We have used this pump for several months on a/c condensate in a 5 gallon bucket almost on a daily basis. It has stood up to that demand without failure. Good pump!

It is a good pump

This pump is a good value for the price, considering that it is a 1 hp model with a stainless steel exterior housing, and it also comes equipped with an integral float switch. It moves a lot of water in a short amount of time, so no complaints about it's function. Just be aware that it has plastic components inside, such as the impeller and funnel-shaped volute, which directs the flow of water up through the pump body to the outlet fitting.

I’m glad I did my homework—after a long search for a fast flood‑control fix, this product has already saved our basement from flooding three times. It works quickly, and the build quality is excellent.

When I saw this listing I had an immediate and pressing need for it. My outside drain that serves my kitchen sink and shower had overflowed and I found that there was a lot on congealed fat that was blocking the flow . Last time this happened I got down on my knees with a pair of long rubber gloves and cleared it manually. It was problematic due to the amount of water sloshing around. This time I will break the fat up with a flexible rod, direct in some fresh water with a hose and use this pump to try and suck the mess up. If nothing else, at least I should be able to drain out the excess water which will make removing the globules of fat much easier. I was impressed with the spec of this machine. It has a 1KW motor and copes with a grain size of 35mm, which is just under 1.5 inches. That should be perfect for my needs. The cord is 10 metres long, which I think is very generous and there are different connectors supplied to facilitate different bores of drainage tubes. As things turned out I couldn't fit the pump into the body of the drain but that wasn't too big a problem. I broke up the fat with a bendable rod with scraper attached and flooded the drain with copious amounts of water. The bits of fat floated up into the upper chamber of the drain to be sucked away. The job was relatively quick and easy and I now have a free flowing drain. This is a great pump and does what it is supposed to do. I am not sure what the cost would have been if I had called in a drain cleaning service but I am quite sure that it would be quite a bit more than the £59.99 that this machine costs and I am convinced that , with time, the drain will need further attention but I will be prepared and will get this pump out again.

This is a God sent when we had water in the basement due to flooding. It pushed the water out in good time. We will reorder for a back up pump.

I hang onto this for a few weeks before posting my review hoping that a real job would come up, however I ended up having to test it out in the bath instead. This a pretty standard sort of design with wide inlets and outlets and good clearance around the impeller making it well suited to pumping dirty/flood water. The flow rate is excellent although I can't speak for the head. One thing that did strike me in bathtub testing was the height of the pump section. What with the inlet section and then the pump itself, having the pump completely filled and not chopping air requires a good six inches of submersion so this probably isn't brilliant for emptying ponds/flooded areas in that respect. It is perfectly suited for a sump setup though, if you expect this to run regularly in a situation such as a basement sump this is perfect for the job. In operation the movement of the water makes more noise than the motor itself and the integrated float switch makes setup a breeze.
