But testing it out on a pair of peerless cuffs that I own; it barely works and only sometimes. It released the double lock fine but turning it the other way to open the cuffs didn't really work well at all. The problem is that the "paddle" (the part that turns the mechanism) of the key needs to be just slightly longer. The paddle is shorter than the keys that came with the cuffs. This causes it to just turn freely in the key hole without engaging the mechanism to unlock, and when it does catch- if you turn it too far it just slips past the mechanism. Have these other reviewers actually tested this product on a real pair of cuffs? I've never tried the original version of this product, the HK1, but this HK2 is supposed to be the "new and improved version". Aside from this "key" not actually working... it is so small that it is very difficult to manipulate in your hands while cuffed. I was having trouble opening the cuffs with them in front of my body where I could see, I can't imagine someone being able to do this behind their back without dropping it, and if you drop it while cuffed behind your back, it's lost. Obviously handling it is a skill that needs developing through practice, but as stated above; the key doesn't really work reliably at all. I've had better luck picking the cuffs with a simple hairpin bent the right way.
