Pelican 1650 Case No Foam (Black)

Are you a travelling coroner? A DBO (dead body outliner) or just want to tote a bunch of stuff when you travel? If so, this is a perfect trunk for doing it. I have been traveling with mine for a few months now and it is great. Super sturdy, rugid and easy to pack. My DBO practice dummy fits in it perfectly. When I am teaching a class in outlining, it is a simple matter to unpack, throw the dummy randomly on the floor, pull out the tape or chalk and start outlining. Classes are also impressed how easily the dummy goes back in the box. When I fly, the 1650 passes for a standard luggage even though it is 2 inches over the combined length x height x width measurements. It also has a super sturdy handle for rolling around in he airport, recessed wheels that the luggage handlers can't get hold of to rip off and is built like a tank. I highly recomend the Pelican 1650 for you travel needs. Ohhhhhh,,,,,,, It is also water tight if you happen to be that coroner I mentioned (make sure to flush it out regularly, especially if you want to haul just stuff later)

I have wanted the 1650 for quite a while but could never get myself to spend the money. I finally pulled the trigger. You pay for what you get. This thing is nice along with the inside lid mount panel I purchased I'm sure this thing will provide me with a long life of service. Quality material, nice design it's a Pelican so it's good to go.

My cases take a beating so my photography gear doesn't have to. I recently bought some astrophotography gear and needed a new case to accomodate it and the rest of my lenses and photo gear. The first thing I will say is that it is BIG. I took it out west and it only left the car 2-3 times because it is heavy. It does have rollers, so that is nice, but lifting it around will make you work. I am in pretty good shape but this is about 100lbs loaded up, 35 of which is just the case. This fit my tripod in it as well, with the head off. I have a gitzo 2531ex which just fits lenghtwise in the case. Get this if you want a safe and strong(have already dropped it and banged it against walls a few times) case for home and vehicle storage and possibly air travel, if willing to pay the overweight fee. I would not use this as a field case, as it is too bulky/heavy to get anywhere far. I have a backpack to take the lenses and accessories I need for that use. All in all I love pelican cases, and have worked my way up the case sizes as my gear has grown. I cannot say enough about them, and you will not be disappointed. Also, get the lid organizer if you have lots of little stuff like cables, cards, filters, batteries, intervalometer like me. It really helps keep the case from being cluttered.

This is a very sturdy case, but I decided to send it back for a refund. I was planning to put a telescope in it, but due to the large size of the case, chose not to use it.

Everything I expect from Pelican. I have purchased their gun cases before, but this is a first for use as travel luggage. In the short time I've had it I have taken it to four states several airports and it has held up extremely well even when carrying very heavy weight. It has been in snow, rain and heat and my belongings have been safe and remained undamaged. It is a bit expensive compared to other options for luggage, but if you consider this is the only one you'll ever have to buy since Pelican is so durable and have a lifetime warranty, it is a bargain. Which is why I'll be buying another one for my wife's to replace her travel luggage.

If you can afford it, buy Pelican. You will not regret it. These cases are everything and more. I am beginning to get them in every size imaginable for all my video and photo gear. They travel exceptionally well - just make sure that you use the recommended TZ locks on them - or they will be broken into. I almost always have to open them in the airport to show whats inside, but it is well, well worth it. You could throw these off the roof of a building and your gear would still be okay. (Dont do that)

I travel a lot for weeks at a time, and often take my RC cars and helicopters with me. The cases keep things well protected and secured/locked, and the available inserts/organizers keep everything neat and in place. All the pockets and cubbies allow me to bring all the tools/spare parts/etc. I might need and to find them easily. With the Velcro on the ends of the dividers, very easy to make/change layout for whatever I need.

高いが非常に良い商品。 旅行に行く時は家族5人分の服を2泊3日分は詰め込める。 サバイバルゲームのギア運搬時には11.5のライフルをテイクダウン無しで3本、フルで盛ったFCPC一枚、ベルトキット、ヘルメットが入る。更にガスやバッテリー、マガジンなどの細々したものまで入る。14.5inのライフルもストックを縮ませ、斜めで入れたら入る。かなり大容量。 しかし死ぬほど容量があり頑丈だが死ぬほど重い。本体だけでも8キロはあるのでギアを詰め込みすぎると30キロ超えてしまう。ここは大変不便である。重さを嫌う人は1615の方がいいと思う。 ちなみにこの1650、夜行バスを乗る際の荷物規定は各社3辺150cmが一般的だと思うが、今まで断られた事はない。 2年ほど雑に扱っているが壊れる気配は全くないので本当にいい商品だと思う。
