Tony Shalhoub returns to his acclaimed three-time Primetime Emmy® Award and Golden Globe®-winning role for a stellar seventh season in the quirky and irreverent detective show, Monk. Despite his overwhelming fear of germs, crowds, small places and almost everything else, Monk proves once again why he's the only man for the case and why mystery lovers "…can't deny how amusing it all still is…" (Entertainment Weekly). Disc 1 - Monk Season Seven Review: Comedy, murder mystery and love make this a classic - Although at times, Monk's phobias can be irritating to watch, he always solves the case. The comedy intertwined within a murder mystery is what made this [show] a masterpiece. Season 7 is no exception. I missed the original airing, and became hooked during re-runs. A nice touch of seriousness is the dedicated man to the wife he lost. Comedy, mystery and love are what makes this a classic. Fun to watch over and over again. Review: MONK - AN ALL TIME GREAT - Adrian Monk, the defective detective returned for the next to last season. The sum of the whole is greater than any individual part. Tony Shalhoub nails the part and might forever be identified with it. This series has a timeless quality to it. It is truly story driven. The sets, while great, really don't identify any period in time. There is little emphasis on cars or technology, so the stories will stand on their own in 20 years without looking 25 years old. I rank MONK in my all time 5 greatest TV series of all time. It's that special.

One of the Best Shows on Television
I don't think I can say it better than what others have said. Monk is simply one of the best television shows on. I must say they did show a darker side of Mr. Monk in this season. The way he treated Natalie on the show when he got shot was suprisingly insensitive for a guy whose character is based on a man unable to let go of his dead wife. One of the reasons that I love his character is that loving devotion to his wife. Otherwise this is another good season of the show. Like the seasons before, I am looking forward to adding this to my home library.

I'm OCD about Monk
Another fun to watch season of Monk. We make a family time out of having a meal, a talk, and an occasional episode of this series. It's an easy to watch comedy show whose plot involves the solution of a crime, and whose theme is about relationships. The series helps me laugh at myself. For me it's a must have. BTW, While the review is about the product, I'll just comment about Amazon ... Our preorder price was higher than the lowest posted price before release. Amazon AUTOMATICALLY (that's without our request) refunded the difference between our order price and the lowest listed price. One more reason I like dealing with Amazon.com.

Classic Monk
The other characters are more fully developed in this season. Randy could be the funniest character of all in the classic scene with a mobster undressing to prove he didn't wear a wire instead of simply answering the question. I laughed until I hurt. Most of the shows seem a bit darker than usual Monk fare. Some of them leave me pitying Monk instead of laughing at his OCD. All in all it is must see season. Monk & the Mob is worth the price of the set.

DVD for the Monk-a-holics
Monk Season 7 was a Christmas gift for my husband, who thinks "MONK" is the greatest TV program of all time. He even has our 6 year old grandson asking to watch "Mr. Monk" with grandpa. It is a family friendly program. The show is heading toward it's natural end, the stories are getting more formulaic. Season 8 was a bit more interesting, the plots were a tad more involved and a number of story lines (i.e. why was Trudy killed) were resolved. Will order that for him as soon as it comes out.

Monk
This is my favorite recent series. That is, it came later than the 50s. 60s and early 70s, which is where most of the shows we like to watch come from. Sometimes I get a little--just a little--impatient with the Monk "business", such as when he has to do something silly to make things even or can't make a decision. It makes me think they didn't have enough content to fill an hour show, so this is padding.
