These lights are literally plug and play! I used a flathead screwdriver to pop out old lights, pulled the connection apart and connected to the new lights. Then pushed them back into place with minimal pressure as the clicked in. Looks exactly like the image in the picture! The functional part of these lights: They are exponentially brighter than the stock lights to aid in entering the vehicle at night. I have black on black interior in my M37x so these lights help a lot! You can only see them in a dark room, night time, etc due to wash out in regular light for anyone that is wondering. Considering purchasing a set for my girlfriend as well. Each day I can't wait for the sun to go down to open my car doors and see the BMW image projected onto the ground. The only issue was I had to trim the door opening a little because they were not an exact replacement fit.
