Great kit for the value. I ended up borrowing a rebar tying gun which is the real way to get some steel tied. Doing a few dozen with this kit really made me appreciate the gun! Not only is the manual tying with the included tool slower than the rebar gun, it requires a good deal of finesse to get it tight without breaking. A normal 90 degree cross of 2 #4 rebars for example seem like it requires 3.5 pulls to get tight. 3 is loose but if you go for the final fourth one all the way it will bust the tie and send it flying. Any change in the number of bar or angle changes the number of pulls you need to get tight. No feedback from the tool that you are getting too tight you just need to experiment and break a bunch of ties to get it right.

They do the job, just don’t over twist the ties , they do break easy , great for rebar or concrete wire

This works as advertised. I actually was able to get this in my luggage and travel out of the country and use it for a house I was building. Where they do not have this available. I was thinking it would be very oily, but it was not. It only weighed 10 pounds in the luggage and I am happy I did it.

Cutting corners. Limited use. To prevent rust, they coat it with paint plus placing oil on it to make it oily. As a result, it is difficult to handle. Plus, if you use it on animals like cages, the smelly oil repels the animals. Saving a few dollars, it is user unfriendly plus having limited use.
