Works perfectly. I used it to transfer old software to my new laptop which doesn't have a DVD drive. Easy to use, it was recognised straight away and is compatible with my old windows 10 and my new windows 11 machines. Feels sturdy, so hopefully will last a long time, and I like that it's lightweight and easy to carry around as the lead fits neatly into the back. It doesn't come with a native DVD player, so if you want to watch films or listen to music from it you'll have to install a DVD player on your machine - I have VLC player and it worked fine with that. Good value for money at under £17 at time of review.

Have just burned several CDs with this using Verbatim CD-Rs and CDBurnerXP. They turned out perfectly, no issues with playback. I wanted to rip a CD of an album I can’t find anywhere online (and also make a backup copy since it’s very old) and my laptop is too new to have a CD/DVD drive so this was perfect for the job. It burns quite quickly so you don’t have to wait long, and it is relatively quiet, it makes a soft whirring sound but nothing too noisy or distracting if you’re doing other things while the disc is burning. The drive also looks quite sleek and stylish, not cheap plastic like some of the others I’ve seen, and quite slim which adds to the portability. I also tested the DVD playback with VLC Media Player and it works fine as far as I can tell. I’ve had no issues with this product so far and I’m very satisfied, I would definitely recommend it.

Easy to install and use. Works fine

Very happy with this item. Using it with my 2012 Apple MacBook Pro (2012 model running macOS Catalina), which has a built in CD/DVD drive but doesn’t seem to like 3” CD Singles with an adapter. This item works great, so now I can import my 3” CD Singles into my iTunes library. Great price as well.

Best £16 I have ever spent! Plug n play using M3 MacBook Pro, amazing. Pretty much a time machine allowing me to import old CD’s taking me back in time, just buy it and feel the face-ache of the big smile you will have. Magic.

Absolutely awful quality CD drive. I bought this to burn music to CD's and every single burn had issues. The audio was echoing, crackling, and glitching around the halfway mark every single time I made a disc. Even some of the files were fully corrupted and couldn't load. Returned this and got a new burner elsewhere and it works perfectly compared to this! Could've been an unlucky drive but it was bad.

I bought this cd drive to burn cds for my car as it stated it could be used with windows 11. It arrived next day and the box was so lightweight I briefly thought the box was empty lol. I'm not very technical so the plug and play aspect was another thing that drew me to this product. I followed the instructions to set it up and it stated it needed windows media player or VLC which I had both but neither of these had a burn option and going through the file manager would only burn the disc as a cd-rom despite selecting burn as audio cd. When even my partner (who is more techy than me) couldnt figure it out I emailed the company and explained the situation. They responded quite quickly (within 24hrs) and explained i'd need a programme like Nero and gave me some simplified instructions for using the software. I downloaded Nero and used the free trial and it did work, the only downside is to continue using the burner i'd have to spend money buying the Nero burning pack (around £45). For me and my family and how much we would use it we can justify that extra cost and would get our moneys worth out of it but if you're not going to use it much (with windows 11 anyway) then it maybe too much. That being said it is a lovely little machine - lightweight, fast burning and very quiet (I've had some burners that have been very loud when in use). The power cable wraps up and clips to the bottom of the burner to prevent loss or damage and the data cable comes with both normal USB and c connection points (although both the power and data cables are quite short). The customer service i received from the company was actually one of the best I've had from a company on amazon. Quick responses, friendly, personal enough to know there's a person on the other end of the screen (rather than generic responses off a computer programme like some companies use) but not too personal where they cross the line of not being professional. Overall very happy with the product and service I received. I would of given 5* if the Nero bit was added in with the product details so I was aware at the time of buying but a very respectable 4* (if it has 3* not 4 it because my phone not highlighting the 1st star lol)

Tengo dos portátiles en casa, un MacBook y unos con windows, pero ninguno tiene lectora/ grabadora de DVD, como ocurre en mucho portátiles de ultima generación. Sin embargo aún tengo DVD antiguos que de vez en cuando me gusta o necesito acceder a la info que tengo. Por eso me interese por este lector/grabador de DVD que hace su función. Lo he probado me en una MacBook y ha funcionado perfectamente. En cuánto conectas el lector al portátil enseguida aparece el contenido del DVD y abrirlo. En principio el portátil es capaz de alimentar al DVD mediante el mismo cable de datos, pero trae un cable USB por si no es suficiente. En mi caso he tenido que conectar dicho cable a otra entrada USB del MacBook para que tuviera la potencia necesaria para trabajar, así que he tenido que ocupar dos puertos USB para usarlo, también es posible usar un conector externo o power bank para alimentarlo, si necesitamos dichos puertos. Tiene la opción de usar USB 3.0 o USB C, lo que le da versatilidad, ya que el cables de datos tiene ambos terminales. Además tiene un diseño moderno y bonito, y tiene algún detalle cuidado como el cable de datos y los terminales quedan ocultos y protegidos cuando no se usan, además de tener una hendidura para que el cable no impida que el DVD queden bien apoyado en la mesa, facilitando la lectura correcta de los DVDs. Ademas e incluye una bolsa para guardarlo y protegerlo cuando no lo usas. Espero que mi reseña te haya resultado útil ❤️
