Pretty Good Product - depending on how you use your iPad

If you do a lot of typing (emails, etc.) on your iPad then you need a keyboard. Your options are to just use a larger Apple compatible keyboard (I first used the apple keyboard that came with my iMac - it's full size, but has a small footprint, and worked great), but you have to carry it separately. Not much of a problem (it's small) but nevertheless I continued to look for an iPad bluetooth keyboard (they all have special keys designed for the iPad, like a "home button" key, media controls, etc.). I looked at all the folding cases with keyboards (which are probably fine) but this one attracted my attention because it physically attaches to your iPad and acts as both a cover and when attached, with it's real aluminum finish, actually makes the iPad look like a small laptop.Pros:- Very light - it weighs next to nothing, so it won't add weight to your already heavy iPad- Easy to connect - no problems whatsoever, very simple process- Long battery life - projected at 100 hours- Easy to attach and separate - I'll admit that my first try was a little frustrating (not attaching, but separating) but once you get the hang of it it's easy. I put it on it's edge (i.e. usually holding between my legs) with the side facing up that has a little "cutout" area in the middle of the side facing you), insert my thumb fingernail into the small space between the iPad and the Keyboard cover, and sort of lift and separate in one motion and it pops right apart-Protects your iPad - when connected, you've got solid metal; not rubberized corners though, so I'd be concerned about dropsCons:- As you would expect, the keyboard is smaller than a normal keyboard, and takes some getting used to, but it is better than the on-screen virtual keyboard - you can actually do two-hand normal typing- There is a small "lip" around the edge of the keyboard and you have to rest your hands on that in typing position. It's only a minor annoyance, but it would be better if it wasn't there - but then you wouldn't have an attachable keyboard- The backspace-delete key (which you'll be using a LOT with the smaller keyboard with more key mishits) is right below the "sleep" button, and while I'm getting better it's too easy to hit the sleep key when deletingOther:- There is a slot in the Keyboard that you stand up your iPad in when you are in typing mode. Landscape mode works great. In portrait mode, while it won't exactly fall over all the time, it is much more prone to be top-heavy so I find myself keeping some weight/pressure on the keyboard to ensure it doesn't tip over backwards.- I really don't type all that much on my iPad, so unless you are really heavy into typing and need a constantly accessible keyboard, I'd recommend getting another type of cover designed to protect your iPad while also allowing you to remove it or in some fashion easily handle it switching from landscape to portrait orientation, use the camera without worrying about dangling cover flaps, etc. I guess I'm still searching for that ultimate case/cover.In summary, if you type a lot, want something that looks impressive, is made well (the key action is very good), and protects your screen when attached, this one is definitely one of the better options.

    Okay for what it is.

I'm going to keep this keyboard even though it has a few flaws that are annoying. First the lock key in the upper right side of the keyboard is right over the delete key. So it's very easy to accidentally hit it when deleting a mistake. Second issue is the right hand side "shift" key which is not ergonomically placed. It's a real stretch to hit it without looking for it. Typing is okay, but the keyboard is small (has to be to fit an iPad). It's difficult to type very fast. It's better than the touch screen for long sessions. It does live up to being light weight and attaching to the iPad securly without touching the screen. I like the fact that I can pick up the iPad if I want to use it without the keyboard. It should be fine for travel. I'm going to look around for a small sleave case to keep the iPad with keyboard cover in or just the keyboard when not using it. At the moment I still have the iPad in a leather Snugg case. I can rest the iPad with case on the top part of the keyboard. The Snugg case has a place for a stylus. One thing that would be great is a keyboard that had a small touch pad incorporated.Update: I replaced this keyboard with The Belkin QODE Ultimate Wireless Keyboard and Case for iPad 2, 3rd Gen and 4th Gen with Retina Display (Personal Computers) Higher price but no comparison. All the keys are in the right place! Bigger and feel like typing on a laptop.

    Nice keyboard

1. works really well.2. I use it more than I thought. THe upper row has some functions like a home button and volume and brightness and play functions.2. Usually syncs really well3. Is very light. Travels without making the Ipad heavier.4. Does not seem durable, but for 6 weeks, holding up very well.5. The keypad works well. Much faster typing. There are arrows to move the cursor, which is really nice for typing. For the price and the functionality, it is worth getting.Addendum. I had it for 3 months and it stopped working. I am not sure about moisture or something. I then emailed the company and they sent me a new one for free. I have never had such a quick response. It was really quick and very efficient. I have had no complaints. It has worked so well without any problems. I love carrying this unit because it does not add weight to my backpack. The battery lasts 3 weeks. The company was beyond professional. The typing is still going good. This is after 6 months of use now.
