Books 1-8 of the New York Times bestselling Magic Tree House series plus an interview with Mary Pope Osborne! Meet Jack and Annie! Jack and his younger sister, Annie, are just regular kids. But when they discover a tree house in the woods, something magical happens. In books 1-4, Jack and Annie are whisked back in time to the Age of Dinosaurs, a medieval castle, ancient pyramids, and treasure-seeking pirates. In books 5-8, Jack and Annie's friend, Morgan le Fay, is in trouble! They must find four "M" things to free her from a spell. Their adventures take them to meet a ninja master in ancient Japan, flee a crocodile on the desertcart River, discover the cave people of the Ice Age, and blast off to the moon in the future. It's a difficult and dangerous mission, but Jack and Annie will do anything to save a friend! Audiobooks in this set include: Dinosaurs Before Dark (#1), The Knight at Dawn (#2), Mummies in the Morning (#3), Pirates Past Noon (#4), Night of the Ninjas (#5), Afternoon on the desertcart (#6), Sunset of the Sabertooth (#7), and Midnight on the Moon (#8). Mary Pope Osborne brings together just the right combination of history, magic, and fast-paced adventure to satisfy kids, parents, teachers, and librarians all over the world with her New York Times bestselling series. "Osborne's narration is low-key and well-paced. A great way to introduce children who are reluctant readers or can't yet read to this highly entertaining book series and to reading in general."-- Chicago Parent “Osborne's soothing, beautifully articulated voice and knack for characterization are reliably pleasing."-- AudioFile Review: Great book for my 9 year old daughter - Great book collection for my 9 year old. She couldnt put this book down when she got it. Review: Fantastic story telling for the car! - I bought this primarily for my five year old (although I think the toddler benefits from hearing it as well) while we're riding in the car, because we spend at least 30-45 minutes per day in the car. She loves listening to the stories and for the most part listens intently and occassionally asks questions about what is going on in the story and why Jack or Annie said or did something in particular. The audio book is the way to go; much better than getting a DVD/TV player installed in your car. The author, Mary Pope Osborne, does a good job inflecting her voice to engage my daughter. I highly recommend this audio book series for anyone with youngsters who need a distraction while in the car. We have 2 more stories left in this disc set and I plan on buying the next series as soon as I get tired of hearing this set over and over again!

Excellent for car rides
We listen to books on CD in the car, even on short trips to the grocery store. I was very excited when I found the Magic Tree House collection. Although the books may have been written for older children, our four year old loves to listen to the stories and talks a lot about them. He integrates parts of the various stories in his play at home, and our car rides, short and long ones, have become very enjoyable. I would say that the Magic Tree House collection is appropriate for kids starting at the age of four. There is no violence, but unlimited possibilities for playful kids imagination in the world of pirates, dinosaurs, knights etc.

Godsend on roadtrips
My kids love these. The eight year old is getting a little bored on the third way through but our four-year old is just as enthusiastic as the first time. I admit, as an adult, I can barely stand them as each book is structured precisely the same way. This is a plus for younger kids though who are still learning to follow narrative and tropes. A lot of the science/history is fuzzy and/or plain out of date so if that bothers you look elsewhere. But if you just want to entertain the kids and put some interesting nouns in their heads this is a great set of audio-books.

Informative and interesting series
Magic Tree House Collection: Books 1-8 All the MTH stories are great. My 4 year old enjoyed them from the start. We got a free CD from Wendy's with his kid's meal. So we had to get the rest of the series. Some are more informational than others but they are interesting and fun. The only problem I have with this audio version is that each episode is not on a separate cd. Instead they overlap. It makes it difficult to listen to one particular story. Plus when it's time to switch to the next cd it doesn't say so, it simply starts the disc over again. This causes confusion. We listen for a while and then realize the story has changed. Usually audio stories that are continued on another cd tell you "to continue this story change to disk # 2." And when my boy wants a particular story I can't just pull out THAT disc and listen to it. I have to get the disk and search for the start of that story. It is a pain. But especially when he wants to be independent and do it himself. It is just frustrating. I have no problem with the books or the recordings just the way it is organized to overlap.

Great Audible Listen
My almost 5 year old can’t stop listening to Magic Tree House books. The audible quality is wonderful. The stories are engaging and educational. He can’t wait to see where Jack and Annie go on each trip.

Wow! What else can I say?
We discovered this through a Wendy's kids meal promo. Then I bought the set here at Amazon. It arrived in 2 days. What can I say? The narration is excellent! The story is simple, yet, well written to inspire your child to sit in his/her seat and use their imagination. It has given me "sanity" in my drives with the kids, with the treasured silence that has filled the air, as they listen to the cd. We've purchased the books as well, and it is great to have it to read along with. Listening to the author narrate also has made me a better story reader to my children. My kids are 5 y.o. and 3 y.o. And they can follow the story really well. And I have a 9 month old baby, too...and the CD gets him sleeping pretty well while we drive.

We’ve loved these for years now
I bought this audiobook for the first time when my oldest child was 4. I have three kids ages 7, 4 and 2 now and all three of them still enjoy listening to magic treehouse in the car. We have bought every magic treehouse book available on audible and my kids can’t get enough of them. Mary Pope Osbourne feels like a friend to our family. My 2 year old listens to this particular book every single night to go to bed.

Great for road trips with kids
Got this 8-book CD for my daughter who has three kids ages 4,6, and 8. She said that they were great for keeping them entertained on long car trips. The reader (the author herself) does a great job with pacing and voicing the stories so all could follow and enjoy them. As a bonus, I also bought books 1-8 and the older child, has now with much more confidence taken up reading them.

Just wonderful!
My 7-yr old son loves these audio books. I also like the stories and find them educating. Each story takes the children back in history to a different place. The author herself reads the stories and her English is easy to understand. My son is at an international school and this is his second year learning English (his German is still much better than his English). Nevertheless, the stories are not hard to follow. We are now buying the next audio book collection (books 9-16). I think girls would especially like these stories, since one of the major characters, Annie, is very courageous and smart, often saving her brother and finding solutions to their problems.
