topnotch product that can so much to your D&D Table props and things like this 3D printed can cozy this review and photo are for the entire Rub and buff product line that are the product leaders in this area for a good reason. The look mor expensive than they are as each tiny tube will cover a lot. They can be applied to laser cut objects that in this case was a tavern sign for a One Shot D&D game; or they can be delicately dry brushed to something like the can cozy

I have been using this for years and it is my go to metallic finish. I have used it on wood, resin and metal. It is so easy to use and way more neat than using metallic paints which have to have mineral spirits to clean brushes and trays. It is very durable and does not tarnish and takes very little time to dry. It also goes a long way. Because you do not have to apply it thickly as with paint which can take many coats. It can't be beat for coverage, value, ease of application and clean up. I always have some on hand.

The color of Spanish Copper is exactly like that of a used penny, not the brand new shiny one but one that has been around for many years and is dark brown. I like the dark brown color but I can see that people expect something with more yellow in it. The tube is 0.5 ounce and the instructions say that it covers 20 sqft! I have not put that statement to the test yet. Rub 'n Buff is a wax rub on compound and not a paint. It seems that most people use it for decorative items like picture frames and ornaments that are not touched afterwards. I called customer service and asked whether there is a way to make the finish durable. I was told that a coat of water based utherane will do that. Since Rub 'n Buff has solvents in it, you can't use the oil based polyutherane. I have used the product on cabinet pulls with three coats of Minwax satin polycrylic. Both the Rub 'n Buff and polycrylic were very easy to apply. Hopefully this will give me a moderately durable finish for several years. Putting this on the front door knob that gets even more use will probably be too much. I also tried to pu the Rub 'n Buff on a bright copper colored chandelier. The fixture had several sections of square metal which did not work with the product. It rubs on fine but when you buff, it comes right off at the square edges. You can't just put another layer on top of it like paint since it has a solvent in it and the previous layer does not dry as a hard layer. I probably spray paint the chandelier black or brown first, to mask this issue but that would be too much work.

I can not describe how useful this is. Different colors but if you want to highlight a metal surface, lamp, hooks, decorative hardware, this is what you use. I spray painted an ugly Tiffany copy then highlighted the bronze paint with this. Apply with finger and rub off to make highlights. Amazing. If I cared more or were being paid, I would do pic but, sadly, I do/am not.. Just take my word. Great stuff.

I have a large piece of metal artwork on LR wall that I take down to clean and "buff up" once a year. I have always used "Rub n Buff" to keep the color on my piece. I can no longer find this product in my local stores, so was thrilled to find it on Amazon. It is the exact same product and I can get it in the colors I need to keep my artwork looking fresh. Love the application ease and sheen.

Be aware that the colors pictured are much different. I used my computer and phone to check, before I ordered, because I needed to match a specific shade. This is much, much darker. I understand not allowing returns because of chemical rules, but this was their fault, and they didn't even try to make it right, citing Amazon rules. I've dealt with sellers that were more than willing to correct nonreturnable items, when it was their fault. Honestly, that's just the tip of the iceberg. This is gloppy, and really difficult to apply correctly. I tried several methods, all resulted in big globs, especially, where it settled in the cracks, which I deliberately avoided. No matter how lightly I tried to apply it to just the surface, it was uneven, unruly, and very difficult. Forgot about trying to buff it to a shine, it just rubs off in all of the wrong places, and stubbornly clings to the wrong ones. It's dull, like you smeared mud on the piece. I will never buy this product, again, and never, ever buy anything from this seller, again.

Such a great product, really easy to apply and did exactly what I needed. Dries quickly. I would definitely recommend and would purchase again.

Ich habe Rub ’n Buff „Spanish Copper“ hauptsächlich zum Veredeln von 3D-Drucken ausprobiert und bin mit dem Ergebnis wirklich zufrieden. Gerade bei Drucken mit vielen Details funktioniert das Wachs sehr gut. Ich trage eine kleine Menge mit einem Tuch bzw. vorsichtig mit dem Finger auf und reibe es anschließend etwas ein. Dadurch bleiben die Vertiefungen dunkler, während die erhabenen Stellen einen schönen metallischen Kupfereffekt bekommen. Dadurch wirken selbst einfache 3D-Drucke deutlich hochwertiger und bekommen mehr Tiefe. Was mir besonders gefällt, ist die Ergiebigkeit. Man braucht wirklich nur sehr wenig Material, sodass die kleine Dose erstaunlich lange reicht. Außerdem lässt sich der Effekt gut kontrollieren – je nachdem, wie stark man poliert bzw. wie viel Wachs man aufträgt, kann man einen eher dezenten oder deutlich kräftigeren Metallic-Look erzielen. Auch auf PLA hat es bei meinen Drucken sehr gut funktioniert. Wichtig ist meiner Erfahrung nach, die Oberfläche vorher möglichst sauber und staubfrei zu machen. Bei einer gut gedruckten Oberfläche kommen die feinen Details anschließend richtig schön zur Geltung. Die Farbe „Spanish Copper“ gefällt mir besonders gut, weil sie nicht einfach nur wie eine normale kupferfarbene Farbe aussieht. Durch das Polieren entsteht ein schöner metallischer Glanz, der bei Figuren, Dekoobjekten und anderen detailreichen 3D-Drucken wirklich etwas her macht. Für mich eine einfache Möglichkeit, 3D-Drucke nachträglich aufzuwerten, ohne gleich aufwändig lackieren zu müssen. Ich werde definitiv noch weitere Farben ausprobieren.

Superb! Used it to restore an old Austin sculpture and to colour an unfinished piece. Looks like bronze to me which is exactly the finish I wanted to achieve. Easy to use, perfect coverage and shines up beautifully.
