The play’s role in advocating for women’s rights in the nineteenth century makes it an important work for anyone to see or read. August Strindberg wrote the play, Miss Julie, as a response to Ibsen’s work. It came after A Doll’s House so it couldn’t have influenced Ibsen, but I wish Catherine Miles had included a discussion of the two playwrights’ different views. A Doll's House
First, I read this as an ebook on my Kindle. The title indicates it is annotated but it isn't. The story itself is very easy to understand. It is very fast pasted but that is expected since it's a play. There is very little character development so the ending surprised me. Everyone should read this so they will some knowledge of the rights women didn't have. A woman couldn't get credit on her own without her husband's signature until the 70s. Women should not be dolls to be taken care of or lorded over but is full partners on a marriage.

continues to inspire
This classic in Women’s Literature has made it to an annotated and upscale republication. A play that I read in high school, A Doll’s House makes us think about what it was like before a woman could take the reins of her own life. Taking the reader through one woman’s personal struggle for identity in the 19th century, A Doll’s House continues to inspire even today.

Billiger Druck
Diese Edition ist an Dreistheit kaum zu überbieten. Ein billiger Druck, dem 5 1/2 Seiten Wikipediawissen über das Stück vorangestellt wurden, dass dann als "annotated" ausgegeben wird.

A classic delight
A Doll's House (Annotated) is a play set in the 19th century about a Norwegian middle-class family in which the wife, Nora, keeps a secret from her husband that has consumed her for years. When the secret is about to come out, she finally realizes that her marriage is not perfect and starts questioning the relationship she has with her husband. Given the time it was written, it is very progressive, and for that reason, it is definitely an important historic piece of art. Because of its play structure, it’s more suitable for theatre lovers and readers who are accustomed to reading screenplays.
