The label on the bottle is different from the shop picture, but it is really a COOL TOOLS PATINA GEL. It works perfectly creating a color or black patina on copper and silver.

really great product and well worth the money. i wish it were slight more concentrated, but it definitely gets the job done.

I forgot to take my James Avery Rings off on cleaning day and tarnished them. Then I cleaned them with a sterling silver jewelry cleaner and it really cleaned them but left them looking more of a pale silver and so ugly. I wish I had gotten before pictures of all of my rings but didn’t. The last three images are what they look like after using this gel as instructed on the bottle, and the first image is what one looked like before. Super easy to use! This and a polishing cloth will have your rings looking good as new!

I tried it on a brass faucet, and although it smelled like it should work, it didn't do a thing. I wound up returning it, and painting the faucet with Rust-Oleum metallic Oil-Rubbed Bronze spray paint. It might be a little susceptible to wear, but at least I got the color I wanted. The liver of sulfur sounded like a good choice, and maybe it works on certain other surfaces, maybe if the surface is more porous, but it didn't do the job for me.

Nice product. Performed per specifications and aged the brass very well. Very pleased with the product and its quality. Recommend it highly.

Works great on copper, ok on bronze, but had no success getting brass to turn very dark. And this was using hot water. Ended up using a light mist spray of dark brown bronze metallic paint from aerosol can allowing a hint of the brass metal showing through then putting a satin finish clear coat on top. This was used on brass back plates for antique drawer pulls.

The first few times I used liver of sulfur, it was in solid form. The local bead store gave me a small chunk to try at home, after retrieving it from a bag in a tin (so's to seal in the stink) in the back of a closet. The chunks are incredibly unstable, so I was looking for another option: something simple to use and easy to store. While I still try to process multiple items per batch, I've done everything from one bracelet to 8 pairs of hoop earrings with just a few drops of this stabilized gel, then snapped the lid shut, shoved it back in its plastic baggie (just in case of leakage), and tucked it away. I've probably done nearly 10 batches, so far, and the bottle is still almost full. I'm sold.
