So easy to put up.
We used to take our 10'x10' expandable canopy that took 2 people to get it up at the beach because of wind. It was heavy, took up much space and hard to get into it's case - outside of metal rusting is salt air. Was going to the beach and was going to rent a canopy. Looked online at beach rental for this type of canopy (didn't want the one that the wind keeps the back side up - too much noise) and it was $90 for the day. It was just 2 of us and looked at this Neso brand, 9'x 9' that was only $40 more to buy and thought, "Why waste money on years to come." It looked high quality and was so easy to put up, comes in a light weight small bag that can't be more than 5 lbs with poles inside. What I like most about this kind of shade is, the footings are so far out, it keeps people from setting up RIGHT NEXT TO YOU. Some instructions and video's show laying out the whole thing before filling footings with sand. If it's real windy, it will be hard to keep it in place. I would fill one front footing (facing the beach), then stretch the other front side over and fill it - but not digging a hole down into the beach yet. Stretch out the back footings one at a time to fill. Once filled, move and highly stretch out to where you want it. Then dig a big hole for the footings to sit in and cover with that sand. Only have to that if it's VERY windy. Just lift the front, put the poll about 1 to 2 feet from front edge, stabilize polls at an angle (depending on wind) and Whaa-Laa! Taking down is faster. Am going to use when camping in state parks (no wind) and just put rocks in the footings. Would think you need to be careful not to snag the material around trees - we'll see. The 9'X9' is great for up to 3 people, but could fit maybe 2 more if you purchase another set of poles (What I'm going to do for next trip) for the back to make a big off the ground square. Definitely worth the money and saved our keister's from sunburn.

Does the job but…
I gave this 5 stars because it did its job and was well made. However, there is a process to set up and having more people to help makes set up easier. Pros My parents and I were able to sit under the Grande and were shaded. Another couple on the beach with had a Neso and it was the smaller size. They fit perfectly and because of the smaller size I’m sure it was easier to set up. Loved the whale print! The carry bag is small and can even fit in a suitcase. A second set of poles can fit in the bag just fine if you wanted to raise the back corners. Cons: It took about half an hour for just me to set up while everyone else on the beach had fun watching me! Although I had set this up at home in my backyard the beach is much different as the wind provided a challenge. Make sure you stretch each corner as far as possible in the shape of an X, not an H. Really, really fill the sand bags and sink them or they will slowly slide towards the poles when you lift the poles. I had been to the beach earlier in the morning to have my coffee and set up my three chairs. By the time I got my parents to the beach people had crowded around us. The Grande takes up a considerable amount of realestate bc you really have to stretch out the corners. At one point I jokingly said to the family behind us, pretty soon I’m going to have to throw this corner sand bag in your lap to make this work. Others who had similar set up’s put their tents further back on the beach so as not to obstruct other people’s view. We like to be up front to see the ocean so then we are that family blocking other people’s view. Face it towards the wind but that might compromise your view of the ocean! Did it provide shade once standing, yes but couldn’t use the extra set of poles as that would disrupt the front two poles. And my dad was less than interested in helping me. So, I guess you have to weigh how much time you have to try make it work. How many people do you have to help you? How many people to keep shaded? I really wanted to keep this but ultimately I don’t want to spend the time trying to make it work. My sister in law brought a CoolCabana and had hers set up in a minute!

Great for Calm Days, Struggles in Strong Wind
We used the Neso Grande on a week-long beach trip with our family of five, and overall it worked well. It’s lightweight, easy to carry, and super simple to set up on normal beach days. It gave us plenty of shade and space for all of us, which was a huge plus. That said, it didn’t hold up on very windy days. Despite watching the company’s videos and trying all the tips, we couldn’t get it to stay up on two of the windiest days. It just kept collapsing. So while it’s great for most conditions, I wouldn’t count on it in heavy wind.

Please read my review!
Picture shows our tent collapsed for the incoming rain shower. Ok. Forget all other reviews. Read mine. Me and the family went on vacation to Florida. We thought this “tent” would be our best option. We couldn’t have been more right! Two Adults and two teens practically lived under this while we spent our week on the beach. It worked perfectly! I will share some tips and tricks we used while we were on the beach. 1. The whole setup takes literally 2 minutes to setup. It doesn’t have sandbags that you fill up. It has a piece of flat fabric that are able to be cinched into a sack. So you lay the fabric out, lay a bunch of sand on top of it, and then just cinch the sack up around the sand. It really takes like 10 seconds to do each bag. The awesome part is when you untie the bag and dump the sand out, you can shake the fabric and get all the sand off of it before packing it up. 2. Our stay at the beach was interrupted several times by little showers that came through the area. Instead of taking the Neso with us when we left we decided to leave it there on the beach. We took our chairs and collapsed them down and put them under the Neso keeping everything flat as possible. We took the poles down and stretched out the sandbags. The storms came through, our Neso stayed right there on the beach, and all we had to do was put the poles back up when we got back out to the beach. I will say this.... ITS NOT WATERPROOF! Don’t leave valuables under it thinking they will stay dry. You shouldn’t leave valuables on the beach anyway. 3. When it gets wet, it will sag a little. It drys out quick and gets back to its normal height. 4. Wind.... this is what most people on the beach were asking me about (Yes you will get asked questions when people see it. A guy next to us that watched us set it up was so impressed, he ordered one at that moment). It will stand up to average wind at any angle. It will stand out to a little above average wind if you don’t mind it hitting you in the head every once in a while. If the winds get rough, we found that you can take the poles down and put them up where the “opening” is facing the wind. This will allow it to stand up to higher winds. We did take it down one time due to multi direction winds coming through the beach and hotels. It can’t really take swirled winds. I highly recommend this product! It’s light weight and very portable. You won’t be disappointed! Ours did come with a loose thread on the seam of the tent. It’s not a big deal if yours comes like that. Snip the string and dab some clear fingernail polish on the loose seam. Done!

AMAZING. This was an incredible addition to our beach vacation. Shade FTW!!!
The Neso Grande Tent was fantastic! It was the perfect size/weight to be able to carry to the beach with all of our other gear. It was simple/easy/straight forward to set up. It was simple/easy/straight forward to take down. We used this for three days straight on our last trip to the beach. The first day had 17-21mph wind, and the tent worked fantastically. Days two and three had around 6-10mph or less wind and also worked fantastically. Each day we adjusted the setup to face directly into the wind and WHALA, four adults with our beach chairs were all in the shade. The additional shade behind us was a popular spot for the 4 kids to come and get a few minutes out of the sun. PLENTY of shade for all of us. To me, the biggest surprise was how much room there was. With the wind (average beach wind) blowing into the tent, it really gave a significant amount of headroom throughout the entire tent. I was expecting this to only be the case for the front of the tent next to the support poles. Day 1 setup with the extra wind was not an issue, but I did have a helper this day (it was also my first time setting it up). We laid the tent flat, filled the front bags (into the wind) first, then the back two bags. We used the -fill the bag, put the bag in the hole from filling-, technique. Worked great. No movement after the setup. Days 2 and 3 I did solo. No issues here either. This took a couple of minutes longer than with a helper, but both times it was up and shady in under 5 minutes. It looked great. We got LOTS of envious looks from passers-by, who were carrying their beach umbrellas that they were going to set up. Or worse yet, the aluminum tents that got set up and blew away. I can't think of a better beach accessory. I definitely won't be returning to the beach without my Neso!! Thanks Neso!!

Great Quality Tent with Easy Setup - get the extra poles.
I normally don’t do a reviews but this tent earned one. Great quality material and carry/storage bag is heavier material than you see in any tent or chair bags. It also packs very compact 1/4 size of an umbrella. Such easy setup and amazing shade for the beach. First use was in high winds and the tent held up great. It flopped some but never moved. The key is to fill the sand bags as much as possible and stretch the fabric in a X shape fully. Then add your poles accordingly. You can do some things to help shade according to sun. Move a pole in more to create more of a side flap help block sun from side. I recommend buying the two extra poles easy to have if you need make tent higher around back or sides. All four poles fit easily in storage bag. Taking it down is as easy as setup. 9’ X 9’ seems be a great all around size and can move your poles in more to accommodate size restriction beaches. Best beach or tent item I have ever bought. Will use it with anchors off the beach when shade is needed.

Not ideal for windy conditions
We needed a new, bigger shade for our beach trip this year, but it had to take as little space as possible so we could fit it and everything else a family of 7 needs for a week at the beach in our SUV. This looked like just the thing! Small and lightweight, perfect! Unfortunately, we had less success actually using it. Our first day on the beach was really just a headache. It was very windy and the winds would often change direction suddenly. Because of the wind direction, we initially had to set up the tent looking along the beach instead of toward the water. Okay, not ideal but we can live with that. Then the wind shifted, the tent started blowing in on us, and the poles collapsed. So we had to switch them around to match the wind direction then realign and stretch out the sandbags. This happened several times and we’d start the process all over again. It ended up being so frustrating for us because all we wanted to do was sit and relax and watch the kids play, but we had to readjust the dang tent so much! That night we went out and bought a $40 pop-up canopy (we paid $124 for the Neso) that we literally set up and forgot about. Shade without the hassle! I was hoping we’d love this, but it just didn’t work for us. This may work for short trips or on non-windy days, but if you plan to spend the entire day at the beach, be prepared to spend a significant amount of time readjusting it. Funnily enough, another family at our hotel also had a Neso tent. They set up near us on the beach and had the exact same problems we did. I saw them come out of the hotel elevators the next morning with a pop-up canopy. Pros: Lightweight Easy to set up Easy clean up/sand came off easily Cons: Not for windy conditions Can’t control the direction in which it’s set up It’s not something you can just set up and forget about

Compact and easy to setup
Good overall. Strong winds can likely make it collapse. It would be nice to have a total of four posts to make the shade higher so one can walk underneath it easier. Seems durable and I like the easy and quick setup. The small and light size is nice for carrying to the beach.
