I've only started using this compactor, having chosen to buy and take my time rather than hiring and being instantly against the clock. So far I am very impressed and it is very good at compacting MOT type 1. I am using it in a narrow space and it's small dimensions and relative light weight mean it is perfect for my job. If you build up shallow layers of the hard core as you should do in any case, you will find this machine can easily do the job. Very happy with my purchase.

Great product. Always wanted a wacker plate. Heavy enough but easy to handle. Doing a great job. Good value. Best money I have spent. Had no problems with handle. Must have improved product as it is very sturdy. Look after the product and it will look after you. Like anything...don't overwork it otherwise like any electrical item it will over heat. Just keep using it in short bursts as I have done and you don't have any problems unless you are unlucky enough to get a faulty item

Bought this after seeing a review on you tube by the gosforth handyman. I’m doing a lot of patio work (for the first time) on weekends in my garden so didn’t want to hire one. First impressions were good. Feels well built. Took about 5 minutes to put together. I’ve never used a walker plate before so wasn’t sure what to expect. It obviously vibrates heavily which does start to hurt your hands after a couple of minutes. Probably because you have to hold tight to direct it where you want it to go. The front does bounce up and down a bit at times. I’ve been doing it layers and everything is well compacted and stable. This is aimed squarely at the diy man. Not for professional tradesmen and for that I’d say it does exactly what’s it’s meant to.

For the price this is brilliant. Unless you are doing or needing something industrial this should meet your needs. Well worth buying rather than renting one.

Convenient light to use beening electric. Compaction extremely poor on MOT CRUSHED stone sub base for layers for layers above three inches or 75mm deep. Just about dose the job.
