Fantastic puzzle! My cryptex came with a gorgeous padded box, a little screw driver, extra screws, a gift bag, and a nice card you can use when gifting. I didn't buy this as a gift for anyone but if you are you won't need anything else! The cylinder sizing is as described and has a nice heft, all of the rings turn smoothly and it is very easy to get the code aligned to open it. It was very easy to reset the code, but it does take a few minutes and some concentration. None of the instructions I got were in English, but the images were easy enough to follow. The LOTR rings are a little weird thematically but I won't complain about a nerdy extra. They were surprisingly nice!

The Cryptex was the most enjoyed gift of everything that the entire family received. Initially purchased for the kids, two of our family members wanted one as well. We ended up purchasing two more (4 in total.) With a fun secret code to open that can be easily changed to your liking, this is a present that even smaller kids can work. The item is hefty and well made, with a card, the Cryptex, glue, extra screws, and 2 rings inside the secret compartment. I find this to be one of the more well thought out items for sale on Amazon.

My young adult nephew loves this puzzle that we gave him for Christmas. He was actually planning on ways to use it in the future. The structure of the puzzle is substantial; not cheap lightweight metal. The directions on how to change the puzzle 6 letter 'key' are written in 4 different languages, but none of them English. So I used an internet translator to translate one into English....easy peasy. The hardest part was trying to figure out what to use as a 'key' and give them a clue to the key. Setting up the puzzle was just as fun for me as it was for him to solve it. However, I didn't make it hard enough. He solved it faster than it took me to set it up...LOL!

My husband lived his gift, it was heavy so he was very curious. Great value for price, it was a puzzle which he loved figuring out, came with instructions so he was able to figure out combination, it was about the length of a ruler but large enough to be a good puzzle and he can reset it so others can't open it. It took him a bit to figure out, the rings are beautiful and there was a gold ring and a silver ring and both had cool writing like the one off Lord of the Rings. So beautiful. It can be used to store other things, nice to be able to reuse- super functional.

I love the weight of this and it does a really good job of allowing you to gift give with a twist. (no pun intended). Overall the cyrptex is very nice. It is meant to be a fun way to give a gift. You obviously can't just put anything in it but you can easily put paper (which may tell the receiver what the gift is) inside it or even paper money if you wanted. I have purchased several of these over the past few years and it is always a hit to see the receiver try to figure out the code in order to receive their gift!

I bought this for my husband as an anniversary gift. Very cool product, love that you can change the code on it, and hide stuff inside.
