A alltime great cartoon show. If you enjoy the original Ghostbusters movie you will love this cartoon. The title song is awesome too. And the animation is really good too.

Here's what i know the plastic covering is seriously wrinkled disc ten has visible scratches but worked perfectly they all did the series has no title cards until disc 6 then some where along the line they play the intro for when the series was rebranded as slimer and the real Ghostbusters they give you ONE episode involving professor dweeb (for what it's worth it was very entertaining better than nothing i guess) i just wish they had given us at least 3 episodes involving professor dweeb i don't remember seeing much of the rebranded series i just remember it was more goofy regardless it is an amalgamation of the entire series at least most of it into a 100 episode collection finally it has most episodes but not all for what it's worth the sound is good so is the picture it has the Christmas special and the Halloween door and has dare i say the most memorable episodes (sorry if you don't find the one your looking for aside from season 7 i looked up the episodes that were omitted and most of them involved slimer WHY DOES EVERYONE HATE SLIMER? heck he WAS the show growing up anyhow i found it very entertaining and worth the money

Here is how to watch and the breakdown of The Complete Collection. (Watch the first movie.) Disc 1 is all of Season 1 (except one), disc 2 is 12 of Season 2, disc 3 is 11 from Season 2, disc 4 is 11 from Season 2, disc 5 is 12 from Season 2, disc 6 is 11 from Season 2, disc 7 is 6 from Season 2 and 5 from Season 3, disc 8 is 6 from Season 3 and 4 from Season 4, disc 9 is 4 from Season 4 (this is where you watch the second movie) and 7 from Season 5, and disc 10 is 2 from Season 5 and 8 from Season 6. The Collection does not include 2 episodes from Season 2, 2 episodes from Season 3, 3 episodes from Season 5, 17 episodes from Season 6 and all 4 of the Season 7 episodes. It also does not include any of the "Slimer" sub-series. That being said, Seasons 1-3 are just like the movie, great. Season 4 is good but it starts to be more kid friendly. Seasons 5 and 6 are only o.k. because of the introduction of Louis Tully. The animation is quite good and the music is not too bad. The story lines in Seasons 1-3 (which comprise most of The Collection) remind me of the stories in the movies, just on the edge of what we'd expect with the humor that keeps it from taking itself too seriously. I'm glad I bought it because I enjoyed watching it.

I love this collection, it has a great variety of episodes that are interesting, fun and memorable. I highly recommend this to ghostsbusters fans.

Sony is re-releasing The Real Ghostbusters after the Time-Life edition of the cartoon has been out of print for several years. Each disc in this five disc set can be purchased separately, but it's much cheaper to purchase the boxed set. The next set of five discs will be out in September and that will leave enough episodes for volumes 11-15. If we get two more boxed sets like these, the overall costs will be approximate to the Time-Life Collector's set when it originally came out and a fraction of what that complete set currently goes for from third part retailers. So overall, if you missed out on the Time-Life version this is a decent purchase, but with room for improvement. There are 11-12 episodes on each disc for a total of 58. I'm not sure why two discs only have 11 episodes as they could have easily fit in and it would have made things a perfect 60 episodes. This is all the more important when you realize the episodes are in chronological order and save for two episodes from Season 1 and 2 which are missing. They are just skipped right over for some reason. These episodes are "Slimer, Come Home" which should be with the season 1 disc (but that would put things at 13 on this disc) and "Adventures in Slime and Space." While it's great to have these episodes, including the original Lorenzo Music voiced Peter in the Christmas episode instead of the redubbed Dave Coulier version, the picture quality is not as good as the Time-Life version. This is because they've crammed a lot more episodes on each disc so the visual quality had to lose something in this translation. Think of it like a Cookie Jar or Mill Creek cartoon release, where you are getting a lot of episodes for a lot less money, but the quality suffers. Still, if you know this going in, you won't be too upset. That said, I really feel they should have remastered these episodes for this release as the age, wear and tear really shows at times. Hopefully the Heathcliff set I'll be picking up in August from Mill Creek won't share a similar fate. So yes, the visual quality has taken a hit and two episodes are missing from the chronological order, but 58 episodes of The Real Ghostbusters for 30-46 dollars (depending on where and when you purchase this) is a really good deal no matter how you slice things. It's still less than a dollar per episode, which is fantastic, especially if you go looking for the Time Life set and its third party overpricing. I'm glad I picked this up for as cheap as a I did and I'm hoping the next wave of five releases get a bundled boxed set as well.

Grew up watching this show as a kid. Love it.

Great collection starter but be wary this is only the first few not including the Short seagment to complete i recommended grab the rest of 6-10 which will complete your collection for the DVD it came in unstable but luckily the disc where fine so pretty much a great experience and i'm looking forward to finishing my collection
