And now, with her instant New York Times bestseller True Roots, Cavallari shows you that improving the way you eat doesn’t have to be difficult—a clean and toxin-free diet can and should be fun, easy, and enjoyable. She learned the hard way that dieting leads nowhere good, and that a clean lifestyle is the ticket to feeling and being healthy. So how does Kristin eat? Organic as much as possible, wild-caught fish, grass-fed beef, fresh fruits and vegetables, and nothing white—no white flour, sugar, or salt. She avoids anything heavily processed and anything that has been stripped of natural nutrients. She maintains a lifestyle free of toxic chemicals and is passionate about creating delicious and hearty food from real ingredients. She wants her food to be true, as close to its natural state as possible. Her recipes—flax banana quinoa muffins, bison and veggie kabobs, and even zucchini almond butter blondies—are proof that a healthy lifestyle isn’t boring or bland. Feed yourself real food and see how much better you feel, both mentally and physically. Review: Very impressed and happy I bought - I am very glad I purchased! I was a little on the fence with the reviews but I’ve been bored with the same recipes and wanted something different and a little healthier. **tske the reviews with a grain of salt... let them give you skittle insight but make your own opinion. Yes there are pictures of food and Kristin, but honestly they don’t overwhelm the cookbook and they have the same amount as any other cookbook I have. I really like her descriptions on each recipe and you really feel like she’s saying them. I didn’t want to goncraxy with buying all ingredients so I chose three recipes to do and try them out and see how they were. Her recipes are simple and not a lot of ingredients. I also liked how there’s a variety of everything in the book from breakfast ,snacks ,drinks and main meals. I got the cookbook in the mail yesterday and made two of them today. First, I made the avocado chicken salad and I have to say it’s it was simple and delicious!! I ends up using her advice on easier and bought a rotisserie chicken. Second, I made the zucchini almond butter bloodies and Brought them to a cookout and figured my friends would be honest on a new recipe. They came out so delicious and were a hit! They were asking about the recipe and where I go it from. I am a sweet eater and for a healthy recipe i didn’t feel I was missing out and you really couldn’t taste the zucchini but they were super moist. Next I’m trying out the acorn squash for breakfast. I am really glad I went with my gut to buy theirs book. I’ve been a fan since Laguna Beach and your always hesitant with celebrity cookbooks as if there really good or just wanna sell something.. Kristin definitely is an amazing cook and has some amazing recipes. Ps I also can’t wait to try and make my own almond milk. Review: 80/20 healthy lifestyle cookbook LOVE! - Great cookbook. Already made four dishes and I have only had this for a day. Simple to follow. Her smoothie recipes are insanely good. Love kid friendly options. A total winner. Need lots of alternative ingredients, but worth it. Like coconut sugar, almond and oat flour etc. She writes about why the dishes are her favorite or the story behind which is such a personal touch!! A few suggestions... 1. More pics of the actual food - you’re gorg but we already know that! 2. Calorie counts or 80/20 counts w alternatives for low fat 3. Write another cookbook soon PLEASE! She needs to write a kid cookbook - I would buy 20!

Non-Dairy, Sugar Free, Gluten Free Recipes
This cookbook is amazing! I made the Shrimp and Scallops Linguini with Vegetables. The cuisine was delicious! I used spinach spaghetti in place of rice linguini, and the flavors were so amazing! I also used Avacado oil instead of Olive oil as the smoke temp is much higher with Avacado oil for cooking scallops on medium high, and the flavors are just as delicious. :) There are so many great breakfast, snack, salsa, and fish recipes I’m looking forward to testing in my kitchen! I love to infuse my own personal touch into recipes to make them mine. Thank you for sharing these special recipes!

Nice cookbook
Good cookbook with lots of interesting recipes. So far I only tried one though - but I can imagine the recipes will be tasty. I do agree with other reviewers that I would have loved more pictures of the actual food. Edit: I made three recipes yesterday for my meal prep for the week. I made the zesty quinoa salad (VERY tasty), BLT salad--very good. I added some Dijon and grain mustard to the mayo for extra flavor (my husband and brother-in-law liked it a lot), Cauliflower garden salad..I cheated a bit with this one and bought a package of frozen grilled veggies from Trader Joes - it came out good! I also made a coconut milk latte a couple weeks ago, it was good but a bit too rich for my taste with the full fat coconut milk so not sure I'll make it again.

Wonderful gluten free recipes
Absolutely could not stop making almost all of the recipes from this book. This is one of the first gluten free recipe books I bought since diagnosed with celiac and no longer able to eat gluten. Before purchasing both of Kristin Cavallari’s cookbooks that were out at that time. (She now has another cookbook that just came out this month) All I can say is every single recipe tasted wonderfully. Was a relief as I had undergone testing all sorts of gluten free breads that was very disappointing (whom doesn’t love bread) Highly recommended, will be purchasing her new book shortly!

Excellent recipes and ideas!
I loved this book so much that I bought the physical AND kindle versions so I could access anytime. I don’t understand the negative reviews. I’m a very experienced cook, and I make up a lot of my own recipes. I feel like I got a lot of ideas and techniques from this book. I am honestly rarely impressed by cookbooks but I love this one. Side note: my GO TO Breakfast when entertaining is now her sausage stuffed acorn squash. They’re so simple and yet so fabulous. I hope she writes another cookbook soon!

A Fair and Honest Review
I have made several of these recipes and have found success mainly with her smoothies, smoothie bowls and drink recipes. We have tried the chocolate chip cookies and, like other reviewers, have found that they basically melt into one big, thin, crispy and slightly burned cookie. That being said, they actually do taste good and I find myself craving them fairly often. We made the butternut squash pancakes this morning and my kids loved them. I also made the acorn squash boats a few days ago and those were great too. The dinner recipes have not been our favorite and I agree with other reviewers that many of the recipes call for with proteins that the average person doesn't have access to and I doubt my children would even like (cornish hens, duck, etc.) Many of the recipes I've tried (and I have tried many) aren't terrible but aren't anything I would want make twice. Other reviewers have complained that there is dairy in these recipes. I don't think she claims that all of the recipes are dairy free, she just offers many that are. Plus, she explains that her family doesn't seem to have the same sensitivity to sheep's milk that they do to cow's milk so that explains why in the dairy recipes she uses that in place of cow's milk. Lastly, there are many complaints about how many photos there are of her in the cookbook. There are a lot of photos of her but I also think there are a lot of food photos or photos of her with her children and husband with the food. I agree that the outfit choices seem kind of silly or inappropriate for a cookbook but we need to keep in mind that she is famous for being on a reality show and these photos are completely on-brand for her. No one should be surprised that she's in the book wearing what she would typically wear. I think the cookbook is an offshoot of her whole lifestyle/reality brand so I think everyone should just look past the photos and pay attention to the recipes which is what the cookbook is for. The photography is actually beautiful and well done, not offensive in any way. Bottom line: I would probably not purchase this again but there are a handful of recipes in here that I'll make again and again so it's at least worth checking out at the library.

Great healthy, easy delicious recipes!!
This book has seriously changed my cooking life. I have cooked multiple recipes and each one has been easy and delicious! We try to eat gluten/ dairy free and with these recipes they are both healthy and delicious even my boyfriend loves them!! My fav: the beef tenderloin- the best filet mignon I've ever had- a crowd pleaser The only thing I would say is there are a TON of pictures of her in the book where there should be pictures of the dishes! Also some of the portions are off- she said the cookies would make 50- they made half and the beef tenderloin and salmon 1 pound would not fill 4 people!!

Family friendly and delicious
Tried a few recipes from this book and they have all been realitively straight forward and easy to make, not to mention tasty. I like that there are also child friendly recipes, my family love the zucchini almond butter blondies.

cooking up a storm
love, love, love this cookbook. I was looking to change to a G free diet after being dairy free for a couple of years. I was having issues with my gut and was working on reducing certain things like gluten in my day to day foods. This was a great way to do it. The recipes are easy and fun and if you pick up a few of the essentials listed to keep in your pantry you'll find it easier to make recipes on a whim. Can't wait until her next book!
