This beats the original DJI Mic thanks to one thing - Bluetooth. Having Bluetooth means you can connect it directly to the DJI Osmo Action 4 and other devices such as smartphones without the receiver needed with the original DJI mic. This is a big deal for me because that receiver took up the USB-C port which meant I couldn't plug an external power supply in, not without adding more bulk and weight with splitter ports at least. Being able to connect the Mic 2 straight to a camera makes using the camera/microphone combination so much easier. The mic even starts and stops when you press record on the camera, so long as you have audio/video sync turned on in the wireless mic options in the camera. You don't even need the receiver kit if you want to use this on a camera like the Action 4 because all the other controls you need are in the DJI camera too. The next biggest change is noise reduction which allows you to cut out a huge amount of background noise. I've yet to test this feature fully because the mic does a great job of cutting out noise anyway but there are some impressive videos online showing how much it can help when the need arises. This noise reduction doesn't work when you link the Mic 2 to a Smartphone according to DJI but I haven't tested that. A nice touch is the fact that the magnet now has a different design on both sides. It's not just for looks, this allows you to easily tell two microphones apart as you can see in my photo. The magnets are stronger than they were on the original mic too. The record button is now much easier to find than on the original mic. It's round and the only button on the one side of the mic which makes it much easier to find and press without wondering if you've hit record or the linking button as on the original mic. The dead cat (windscreen) is also better because it's less fluffy and doesn't keep tickling my chin as the old one did! The backup recording quality has also been increased from 24-bit to 32-bit. Not something I care about but for those of you that need it, there it is. Battery life has been increased too so you now get 6 hours instead of 5.5 The only downside I've found so far is that it takes an unusually long time to connect to my PC. Usually, I plug in an extra drive or SD card and it pops straight up but there's a lag on this mic. It comes up quickly but then takes about 30 seconds before anything shows. When you play a file from the mic or copy it, you have to wait about 30 seconds for it to start transferring and then it goes very slowly at a rate of 700k per second, about 0.7 MBs! It's not a big deal for me as I don't need this but something you may want to look into if you're planning on using this to copy audio from. I have two of these Mic 2s and they both do it whereas other devices are fine. The original Mic was good but this is a step up and I'm glad I returned the Mic 1 to get it. Is it worth upgrading if you already have the original Mic? Probably not, unless you want the Bluetooth feature, but if you're picking between the two then go for this if you can afford the extra.

The audio clarity from this transmitter is outstanding. Voices come through crisp and natural, with minimal background noise, even in busy environments. The wireless connection has been rock solid, with no dropouts or interference so far. It pairs quickly and is ready to use within seconds, which makes it ideal for filming on the go. The compact size means it’s easy to clip discreetly onto clothing, and it’s lightweight enough that you barely notice it’s there. Battery life is impressive, lasting through long shooting sessions without the need for constant recharging. Combined with its portability and ease of use, it’s a brilliant tool for content creation, interviews, or any scenario where reliable audio matters.

If you want a hassle free experience with a mic that powers on quick and also connects to your DJI Action cam then this is the one. Small but not too small so you cannot see or feel the buttons, excellent mic quality in windy conditions and very long battery life. Its a no brainer if you want ease of use on your DJI kit.

Love it but requires post production to link to my insta360. Quality is decent but not compatible with insta360 x3.

Bought this a few years ago now and in all honestly its still a Great microphone. And in fairness the Mic 2 can easily take on the other top branded newer model microphones that's been released in 2026 Battery life is still like it was when it was brand new and I have had absolutely zero issues with it.

Very simple to use with my Osmo Action 4, seamless connection and excellent sound quality albeit yet to be used more robustly. It was able to pick up my voice despite being out of line of sight, it also worked with third party Asmark batteries that come with a charger, so there's no conflict with using other third party products. Once it is turned off along with the camera, when turned back on it connects automatically. This is not however the case when changing batteries or at least what I experienced, however the connection process is just the same and it is quick. Having used GoPro in the past, I now think DJI is the leader in action cameras, they are also innovating whilst not forgetting their whole range and striving to improve what they already have. The Osmo Mic 2 transmitter being one such innovation which now seamlessly connects to the Osmo Action 3, 4, & 5pro. I can't speak to the battery life but I do trust DJI on their estimate of 6 hours, however I'm sure most people will have the opportunity to keep it topped up in any given situation. Although it is very small and lightweight I believe under most circumstances it will be quite robust. I think the magnetic attachment is extremely sturdy although personally I will probably use the clip, also the dead cat wind muff gives a reassuring snap when clipped into the top, just make sure you hear that reassuring click. Buying this for your audio needs is a no-brainer.

Great piece of kit if you are a content creator, vlogger of just someone who likes to have GREAT audio at all times. I have it with me in my backpack at all times, and let me tell you DJI never disappoints. It's so small you can place it anywhere, and you can also use an external mic plugged in via the 3.5mm jack input.

Absoluut geweldige mic. Ik heb zelf de mic 1 en wou heel graag deze mic, omdat de mic 2 met dji cams en via bluetooth kan connecten. De mic 2 zender heb ik uitgetest normaal en met de dji lavalier mic en ze klinken beide perfect hetzelfde. Daarbij het internal opnemen is een grote win, want als je geluid ooit raar gaat doen, heb je nog reserve audio om te gebruiken. Je kan daarbij met alleen de zender al veel aan de mic aanpassen, zoals pop filter erop, lavalier mic erin, ruisonderdrukking erop door het aan/uit knopje 2x in te drukken, connecten met bleutooth en natuurlijk het internal opnemen. Voor mij is dit echt de perfecte mic om te gebruiken voor allerlei soorten audio opnames en heel eerlijk is de mic 2 veel beter dan de mic 1 die ik al had. Aanrader!

Pequeñito y muy útil. La construcción se siente firme y solida, los botones clickean muy bien, el led aunque es muy visible y ayuda para entender muy bien la función que esta trabajando, viene con una bolsita para guardarlo y protegerlo en tus producciones, la opción de grabación interna es mi preferida para contar con un respaldo, además de hacerlo con 32bits flotantes, te permite recuperar muy bien el audio cuando algún personaje habla muy bajito. Para colocarlo tiene un imán muy fuerte que hace sentir seguro el micrófono en tu ropa, también cuenta con el clip y el tamaño perfecto para ajustarse a una zapata fría hace que siempre lo tenga anclado a mi rig. Cuándo hago reuniones online con el ipad o telefono conecto el micrófono por bluetooth para que me escuchen mucho mejor y es una función más. Excelente Micro inalámbrico
