The colours are absolutely gorgeous, and I love that these are completely different shapes to your standard magnetic tiles. The price is really good compared to the other Connetix sets at just £1 for each piece, and most of them are larger than the normal square tile. They are expensive, but I haven't seen any other brands making these shapes. Plus they are compatible with other brands.

I’m slowly adding to my grands’ magnet tile collection. These are strong and compatible with multiple different tiles.

This is the expansion pack that is made to go alongside other packs in the series. There are 48 pieces in the box comprising 6 different shapes. Even with this pack there seems endless shapes, items and pattern you can make. There are magnets on all the corners of the shapes and the sides are slightly opaque and see through and each are beautifully coloured. I think the sides are made of very. thin plastic film and have a crinkly sound when handled. They seem strong and although the magnets don’t seem strong enough to hold a complex pattern together there is no lack of enthusiasm when playing with them. OK, they are quite expensive but I reckon they will give hours of repeated play, they give insights to geometry and provide an educational element as well. This set is recommended for anyone with existing sets who want to expand or anyone for coming to Connetix for the first time.

I got the Connetix Pastel Shape Expansion set to add to our existing Rainbow Ball Run and the 24 piece Motion sets which are played with on a daily basis. The durability of the Connetix pieces is extremely impressive considering they've been stepped on (by me, an adult), hidden in the garden, dropped on concrete, taken to the beach and accidentally dropped down the stairs (by me, an adult). There's very little wear and tear showing on any of the older pieces and the new Pastel ones seems just as sturdy. The colours are gorgeous, we've been using the Pastel set to learn about symmetry and making stained glass window decorations with them this week, they've also been great for expanding what we've been able to make using the other Connetix sets we own. I have now given up on being able to see the living room floor due to the giant Connetix Rude Goldberg machine we're trying to make. I have noticed with the new Pastel set that the magnetic strength on some of the pieces doesn't seem to be quite as strong as the older sets so we've needed to take a bit more care when making very tall or wobbly structures but we do always make sure that there's adult supervision during "construction hours". The Connetix sets aren't cheap but from our experience with them so far, they're well worth the investment as they're going to last a very long time, they're easy to store and keep clean and there's honestly not been a day since we got the Rainbow Ball Run that we haven't played with them. I will also freely admit that after everyone else is asleep, I use the excuse of "tidying up" to play with them myself and have had some success in creating a rainbow cathedral which I'm quite proud of even if it gets dismantled in the morning because it's "not cool enough".

These Connetix Pastel Shape Expansion Pack with 48 Pieces is is a great set of magnetic tiles. The colours are so fun and bright. These look great just like all of their other lines and are very durable. These were perfect for my 3 year old, and even my teenagers were excited to play with these fun colours.
